Great knife, and great money clip!

I had originally purchased this knife as way to quickly get rid of a blade when traveling. I've lost to many pocket knives over the years to Air Port screeners (my fault in the end), when I forgot to put them in my checked luggage. Looking for an alternative, I came across another review for this knife.

Since it uses disposable blades, it is quite easy at the check point to simply remove and dispose of the blade itself instead of the whole knife. Blades are easily and inexpensively purchased at just about any grocery, pharmacy, home hardware store at your destination so there is no great loss. The key is keep the lock screw finger tight, so that you can quickly unscrew when needed.

What I was not expecting is just how useful the integrated clip was. I started using it shortly there after as a money clip and adding a credit card and piece of ID. In the money clip configuration, it both allows me to keep the knife on me for various uses, but also allows me to travel t, without a full wallet or separate money clip. A great feature once you get used to it. What is more amazing is how most people don't even recognize it as a knife when setup this way. I have no qualms about pulling it out and grabbing some money at a store, as it doesn't look or feel like a knife which can cause some distress in certain settings (banks, corner stores etc).

Great little knife, with a blade you can quickly change or dispose of when needed, and added value due to

This little blade is great. It is very small yet sturdy for a folder of it's size.

There is no play or wiggle with the blade when it's open. When locked open it feels solid. The finger guard has also been improved from the previous model. The pocket clip can be removed by pressing down hard on it while sliding it out of the butt end of the knife. REMOVE THE BLADE BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE POCKET CLIP. I removed the clip because a clip tends to ruin the outer edge of the pockets on all my pants.

With the clip off, it now rests so flat in my pocket it feels like a bit of change.

The replaceable utility blade system is freaking great. No more sharpening your blade, just swap it out and it's literally razor sharp again in seconds!
It also uses full size utility blades found at any hardware store. Conventional utility knives use only about 1/3 of the blade. When the blade is deployed on this knife there is about 2/3 of the blade's edge exposed. That's 100% more of the blade edge exposed.

This knife can be opened and closed with one hand with a bit of practice but be extra careful... this thing is a real razor blade.

And finally, no more worrying about lending your pocket knife to someone only to have them mess up your blade's edge. You can now change that blade! PS: A penny fits the blade retaining screw perfectly.

this is a great little pocket knife, opens and closes easily with one hand, clip is very secure, blade is very secure, I bought the similar, smaller design at the same time and the only real difference is that the smaller one cannot be opened or closed with one hand.

Caution: make sure the blade is seated as tight as it will go and tighten the screw well, otherwise the blade can stick out the but of the knife when closed just enough to give you a nasty slice.

I carry this everyday. Let's face it I don't need a combat knife I need a knife to open stupid packaging and other little tasks this razor works perfect. Lightweight, clips to a pocket, discrete plus if you fly a lot and forget you have it with you just unscrew the blade with a coin and discard. No need to give up the entire knife. Plus they are so cheap if you do lose it no big deal just order another one or order a few like I did.

The Lite version I find more stylish with cut outs and prefer its handling to the solid body version

Let me start by saying that I'm not a fan of Gerber. I've had crappy experiences with their [cheaper] multitools. This cannot be said for this little folding utility knife (and it's slightly heavier eab cousin). We own four of them between my wife and I, and their biggest issue is that they are easy to lose due to their small size!

The knife is as thin as it can be yet still comfortable to hold. There is no play in the hinge and it locks securely with a liner lock.

The clip on the back can attach it snugly to a pocket but a slight outward bend at the end of the clip may be a bit uncomfortable against skin so I usually clip it on with the knife in the pocket and the clip on the outside.

Our primary use for these has been as a part of our Ski Patrol duties. You never know when you may need to cut something (e.g. a cardboard splint) and sometimes whatever is being cut is quite unforgiving. Instead of risking damaging a nice blade (a crappy one wouldn't cut well enough), using utility knife blades in this puppy avoids that issue altogether!

Now, of course you can go and buy a variety of folding utility knives these days but if the size or weight is of any concern to you then you won't find anything better than this little knife!
