Product Description

'Geronimo Stilton, adventuremouse? Not me! But surely a little skiing couldn't hurt a rodent, right? Wrong. Moldy mozzarella! When my ski trip landed me in the hospital, I was sure it was going to be the worst Christmas ever! But my family and friends had something else in mind. . . .

About the Author

GERONIMO STILTON was born in New Mouse City, Mouse Island. He is Rattus Emeritus of Mousomorphic Literature and Neo-Ratonic Comparative Philosophy. In his spare time, Mr. Stilton collects antique cheese rinds and plays golf. But what he most enjoys is telling stories to his nephew, Benjamin.

5.0 out of 5 stars she's loving them ALL, Mar 16 2009

This review is from: Geronimo Stilton Special Edition: A Christmas Catastrophe (Paperback)
This time I ordered 10 of these Geronimo Stilton series for my 8 year-old daughter. She is loving every bit of them. The books arrived 2 days ago. As of last night she finished 3 books already.

She already has 22 books of this series. It is her ambition to collect all by the end of the year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Offers recipes, jokes, interesting hospital information, skiing rules and games, Aug 19 2008
By KidsReads - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Geronimo Stilton Special Edition: A Christmas Catastrophe (Paperback)
Geronimo cannot resist his nephew, Benjamin, when he pleads to be taken skiing. The moment Geronimo offers to treat, a pack of friends and relatives decides to go skiing with them. Before you can say "Swiss Cheese," Geronimo is paying huge bills for a nice lodge on Frozen Fur Peak, transportation and meals. Life goes downhill from there, starting with the news that Geronimo must bunk with his cousin, Trap.

At least he gets to go skiing. Geronimo loves this activity --- until the slope show-off knocks into him. The two roll downhill, gathering snow as they travel, before they smash into a boulder. Geronimo ends up in the hospital, where he finds out he has broken every single bone in his body and must have surgery. He is so sad. Geronimo will be in the hospital for a very long time. The accident is sure to ruin his holidays. But the story of how his spirits rise makes for an uplifting read.

In addition to a fun plot, CHRISTMAS CATASTROPHE offers recipes, jokes, interesting hospital information, skiing rules and games.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Book, Dec 7 2011

Geronimo Stilton has to be one of the most fun and captivating series ever written for grade school children. While Magic Treehouse books took over our house for years, the Geronimo Stilton series has captured the attention of my youngest child much more than the others ever did. Each adventure is crammed full of colorful descriptions and memorable characters that hold her attention longer than most books. My daughter began reading these books in the 3rd grade, but a more advanced child could take them on by 2nd grade. If your looking for a series that offers something from a different angle (as a mouse's angle is definitely different!)then this series will not disappoint. There is a theme for every occasion and most with a more modern twist. I purchased this particular Special Christmas Edition as a gift and have no doubts that it will be a hit with my child. These books are a must read for boys and girls alike!
