2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the original Nov 22 2010
By Paul
Format:DVD
I bought this because I enjoyed the original TV show a lot and wanted to see more. The movie isn't as good as the TV show was.The TV series was funnier... the jokes were funnier in the tv series, and the tech was cooler.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Missed it by that much!" Aug 19 2003
By James Helberg - Published on Amazon.com
This should be the standard for which all made for TV reunion movies should follow! "Get Smart, Again" aired on ABC in the early 90's to very high ratings with good reason, It's good! Would you believe, Great! Yes, Great!
CONTROL is back in business to fight the evil forces of KAOS!
The old gang is back Agent 86 (Don Adams), Agent 99 (Barbara Feldon), Hymie (Dick Gautier) to stop the sinister Sigfried (Bernie Kopell) Besides most of the original cast returning many of the series original creative team has returned. Leonard B. Stern, Mark Curtiss & Rod Ash wrote the script and Gary Nelson directed. The movie preserves all of the flavor of the comedy of the Get Smart series yet makes it contempoary enough for today's audiences something the makers of the dreadful 1980 feature film "The Nude Bomb" also starring Don Adams did not do!
The reason my rating is not 5 stars is because of the DVD itself!
The picture quality is very poor. The color is washed out, there is no sharpness or brightness every scene looks as if it were filmed through gauze! The DVD package says "Digitally Mastered" but mastered from what, a VHS tape? Don't let the poor quality of the DVD discourage you. The excellent quality of the movie, the script and all the performances are worth the price! A must have for all "Get Smart" fans! Until we get the complete orginal series on DVD or even a better print of "Get Smart, Again" this will have to do!

3.0 out of 5 stars Barbara Feldon returns to help Don Adams in "Get Smart,Again!" May 27 2009
By James McDonald - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
The original "Get Smart" tv series was broadcast on NBC 1965-69 and CBS 1969-70. Starring Don Adams as "Maxwell Smart" (Agent 86) and Barbara Feldon as "Agent 99".Get Smart - Season 1 (The Original TV Series)
10 years later, Don Adams returned as "Maxwell Smart" in the motion picture, The Nude Bomb (1980). Other original cast memebers returned, but without Barbara Feldon and the late Edward Platt.
In 1989, Don Adams and Barbara Feldon reteamed for the new tv-movie, "Get Smart, Again!".
Also returning, David Ketchum as "Agent 13", Dick Gautier as "Hymie", Robert Karvelas as "Larrabee", Bernie Kopell as "Siegfried" and King Moody as "Shtarker".
C.O.N.T.R.O.L suspects their is a double agent in their organization. Someone else is working for KOAS. The only man capable of investigating on this case is ex-Agent 86, Maxwell Smart, but would he be wearing his phone shoe after all these years? The United States Intelligence Agency gives it a try.
Maxwell is at a funeral when his phone rings, er ah, I mean his shoe rings.
Smart is re-activated by the USIA to, once again, stop KAOS from destroying the world, but he only has 7 days to do it. Maxwell Smart enlists the help of his former collegues.

Also in the cast: Harold Gould and Roger Price (who both appeared in an episode on the original tv series), John de Lancie, Kenneth Mars, Steve Levitt, Lou Felder, Fritz Feld.

Running time: 93 min.

This DVD has no extras. No audio commentary.

In 1995, Don Adams and Barbara Feldon reteamed again for the new FOX tv series, Get Smart: The Complete Series. Only 7 episodes were broadcast.

Don Adams and Barbara Feldon reunited on the 1 TV Land Awards in 2003.

Don Adams passed away September 25, 2005 of pulmonery infection.

Remake of "Get Smart":

Get Smart (Single-Disc Fullscreen Edition) (2008) starring Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good reunion film! Nov 9 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:VHS Tape
This is absolutely the best "reunion" movie for a TV comedy I have ever seen. It features most of the original cast, and was written by the original writers. It really works as a sequel (something the 1980 film The Nude Bomb failed at) and is genuinely funny. Anyone who is considering making one of these reunions should wtch this one as a blue print of how to do it right. Later followed by 7 all new Get Smart episodes (aired on FOX in 1995)which were just OK. I would like to see these on video also. See also "the Nude Bomb"
