About the Author

Born in England, Carol Allain grew up in St. Lucia and Toronto, Canada. She works as a counsellor in a shelter for assaulted women and children and is a member of the Black Women's Collective. Carol appeared in the film Sisters in Struggle, documenting the political activism of Black women in Canada. This is her first experience creating an anthology and she wouldn't mind doing it again.

Rosamund Elwin is the author of two books for young children. Asha's Mums (1990) is a story about young Asha and her lesbian parents. The Moonlight Hide-and-Seek Club (1992) is an anti-pollution story about cleaning up the moon. Rosamund was part of the Lesbian Writing and Publishing Collective which created the anthology Dykeswords and initiated this anthology. Her continuing commitment to lesbian publishing made Getting Wet a reality.
