What a series! Blond-haired, blue-eyed Hebrews!, May 13 2003
This review is from: Gh of Bible: Sodom & Gomorrah (VHS Tape)
Never before in the history of mankind has there been more blond-haired, blue-eyed Hebrews in the Middle East! I say this tongue in cheek ofcourse. This short lived TV series, which may go by two titles on the web, was filmed in Paige, Arizona in the late 1970's. The continuous use of practically the same set every third episode and a minority of extras as a crowd of hundreds of thousands of Jews should give the viewers an indication of the budget. The Review: Lot splits with Abraham and moves toward Sodom, gets captured, freed and eventually rises to some degree of leadership in Sodom. Lot eventually meets up with glowing angels and they shoot laser beams. Wow, that's neat! Sodom is destroyed and Lots wife turns into "BEST YET Salt" but I'm not sure if she's iodized (iodine treated description on BEST YET products). This low budget series features Ed Aames (Lot) and Gene Barry (Abraham) was an interesting idea for an episode and should've stayed just an idea.

Sodomites go poof cheaply., May 15 2012
By The Mysterious Traveler - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Gh of Bible: Sodom & Gomorrah (VHS Tape)
SODOM AND GOMORRAH(197 Directed by James Conway. Starring Dorothy Malone, Julie Parrish, David Opatshu, Victor Jory and Gene Barry. A very poor version of the famous story of the two most evil cities in the Bible and their utter destruction by the Anger of the Lord. Generally badly scripted, indifferently acted, dully directed and in spite of stock footage lifted by the cartful from the 60s theatrical version, the thing needed a cast of thousands and not a cast of tens. The characterizations are poor and lack insight and the story an overiding theme. The battle sequences are wretched. Not helped at all is that the production discreetly avoids just what it was that made Sodom and Gomorrah so utterly vile in the face of God. Here the cities do not appear much worse than some very large and very seedy bar except for the odd human sacrifice and some dishonest business practices. The special effects, such as they are, are unfortunate in that 70s STAR WARS ripoff way with angels shooting lasers from their hands and glowing before they disapear as if they had activated their transporters. And to just be more irritating, instead of the three avenging angels as in The Bible, the production could apparently afford only two.
