5.0 out of 5 stars This book stresses RESPONSIBILITY first and foremost!!!!!!, Oct 6 2009
By Scooby12 - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Ghost Hunting: The Ins and Outs of Paranormal Investigations (Paperback)
If children 16 or above (just my opinion) express an interest in ghost hunting, parents should get this book. It is definitely a book that both parents and their teens/young adults should read together to get info about "real" ghost hunting. TV doesn't show even half of the most important stuff about ghost hunting, and TV gives the impression that investigators can become TV stars, have a full-time job as an investigator, and get rich. This book is the antidote to all of that false information, tells it like it really is, AND the book stresses responsible behavior above all. There are also some really great tips on how to avoid pitfalls and includes other great hints, such as letting an adult in on the group or keeping an adult informed of the group's activities. The importance of responsibility and safety is stressed throughout the book.

Besides stressing the important stuff, it is written for teens and adults who are beginner investigators. There are chapters on lots of different things like tech terms, equipment, what to do and what NOT to do, physical and spiritual safety tips, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent overview of the field, Sep 13 2010

The Other Side does a great job of distilling a ton of information into a witty, fast-paced read. I appreciate the authors' efforts to make history, physics, religion, and safety palatable to a young audience. If you're an adult, you'll find the book a well-organized primer on equipment, techniques, and pitfalls of this hobby. A great read for newbies!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Other Side a Teens Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal, Oct 5 2009

I think this book is very well written for not only teens interested in the paranormal, but for beginning adults getting into the field. It is not long, boring and technical. It is to the point, interesting and informative. The book also stresses all the things not to do . It is a responsibly written book for young adults and interesting and informative for older adults as well
