This book is an amazing addition to my granddaughters library. It has so many activities in it it will keep her busy for hours. There are amazing educational aspects, showing her fashion, museums, job opportunities, history, art, etc. A must buy for 4-8 year old girls.

This hands-on book is well suited for young girls to explore and learn by taking a tour through the big city with Gigi, a young lady on an adventure. Charise Mericle Harper filled each page of Gigi in the Big City with flaps to lift, tabs to pull and wheels to turn, introducing her young readers to the colorful sights of a big city. Each tidbit of information will lead inquisitive minds to ask questions about many things. Children will have the opportunity to give Gigi a make-over, including new hairstyles, make-up choices and fashion changes. They will learn about jewelry and the birthstones for every month. Kids will read what different types of books are available. They will read about different mediums of art, about natural history and photography museums as well as various occupations people in a city may have. The final pages show Gigi journaling about her day and then dreaming about her adventures. This book is sure to keep your young lady busy and curious for a long time! It will be read again and again! My six year old daughter loves this book. We have other books by the same author and love those as well. It's a very cute story and informative too. There are tons of flaps to lift up and a couple of wheels and tabs to move which make the book appealing to a little girl. This is not a toddler's lift the flap book. I agree with another reviewer that this is a great book for the 5-7 year old and would make a perfect gift.

This is a fantastic book which my BOYS (yes, BOYS!) ages 6 and 8 totally love. It is my go-to birthday gift (I have a stack of these books in my closet!) It has so much going on that the kids can read it over and over, discovering something new every time. I can't wait for the next one...and the cartoon series!
