5.0 out of 5 stars Bishojo Oct. 7 2010
By Parka HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
Length: 0:31 Mins
This book is rather similar to another book I reviewed, (100 Masters of Bishojo Painting (English and Japanese Edition)). Both are on Bishojo paintings. Over 80 artists are featured, about 5-7 pieces of illustrations for each artist. All artists come with contact, website and some quotes on their work.

The variety is great and the quality seems pretty good as well. Expect lots of colours and interesting costume designs. I'm not sure if the characters drawn are from any prominent manga or anime series as I can't recognize any of them.

In addition to the art, there are also three case studies on how this form of art is used for promoting youth employment, railway lines and rural areas. There are English and Japanese text.

Nice book to check out if you're into Bishojo art.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book. Good for artistic inspiration. May 21 2011

A book full of beautiful illustrations by different artist, but I thought it would be a bit different. I thought it would have a lot of raw drawings and sketches and stuff, but from what I've seen, none. Excellent illustrations and stuff though.

There's so many different pictures! I bought it for in case I had some serious artist's block and needed some inspiration. Everything is amazingly well-drawn, and also includes some visual novel pictures. I LOVE IT <3
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Art book! May 20 2014

This was a great art book from a lot of wonderful artists. This book shows how much diverse talent there is in the world with original characters instead of drawing things like "fanart". It also gives a fair share to each genre, you will see a lot of fantasy, a lot of slice of life, and a couple bits of art genres that I never paid too much attention too like Gothic and traditional Japanese art.
