3.0 out of 5 stars If it ain't broke...don't fix it!, Oct 3 2010
By Cheryl Koch - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: My Give a Damn's Busted (Mass Market Paperback)
Larissa Morley is the latest owner to run the Honky Tonk bar. Larissa is wondering if she will find the perfect man for her. This is how the last couple of owners found their husbands.

Hank Wells was sent to dig up any dirt that he could on the new owner of the Honky Tonk bar. Boy did Hank get in over his head. Hank makes the worse first impression with Larissa. He almost runs her off the road. From there things just go down hill quickly. Luckily, Hank is a pro at getting his foot out of his mouth. Will Hank get the dirt he needs and split or will the good luck streak continue?

My Give a Damn's Busted is the latest novel in the Honky Tonk series. It can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone novel. I have enjoyed reading these books. What a fun character Larissa turned out to be. Larissa is like a bull in a china shop. When you get her mad...boy you better watch out. It is a good thing that I don't have to worry about Hank getting hurt. He could handle Larissa just fine. It was funny to watch Hank push Larissa's buttons. She gets fired up easily. All I have to say about My Give a Damn's Busted is...if it ain't broke...don't fix it! Mrs. Brown is doing everything right.

MY GIVE A DAMN'S BUSTED by Carolyn Brown is an exciting contemporary romance set in modern day rural town Texas. It is the third in the Honky Tonk series, Book one,Hell Yeah, Book two I Love This Bar. It is well written with details and depth. It has love, wit, sensuality, romance, passion, rural charm, gutsy characters, betrayal, secrets, sexy cowboy, sassy woman, country music, and high society meets country. This is a fun, flirty country romance with lots of wit, great dialog and country music. Larissa, is rich, no one know of this or her past, she is full of life, gutsy, sassy, vowed never to fall in love, owns the Honky Tonk. She is the fourth owner of the Honky Tonk, for every new owner seems to find her country bumpkin and falls head first in love. Which in turn she passes the Honky Tonk on to the next new owner. Hank, is handsome, has secrets also, father owns a ranch outside of town, his mother is wealthy but divorced from his father, Hank is also wealthy in his own right, is at the Honky Tonk to find things out about Larissa in order to buy her bar. They meet during a accident when Hank tries to miss a deer and causes Larissa to hit a ditch. What happens next to true romance in the making. Carolyn Brown has done it again with this smash busting story of love, romance, secrets, family gathering and a match made in heaven. Is the Honky Tonk truly destined to find true love for it's owners? Maybe we will is in the next installment due out in October. 5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Bar Mistress Meet Man Who Doesn't Give Up, Sep 24 2010
By LAS Reviewer "The Long and the Short Of It Re... - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: My Give a Damn's Busted (Mass Market Paperback)
Add one hot head to one bar mistress. What have you got? A whole lot of trouble and one saucy story.

I love stories that show the warmth of human kind and the depth of female irritation by man. My Give a Damn's Busted is just that kind of story. Once I opened Carolyn Brown's third installment of her Honky Tonk series, I felt like I was revisiting good friends. It was as though I was there in the bar with them, watching them fight, love, fight, and realize that needing someone isn't bad. The characters, both primary and secondary are well-developed and snagged my attention from page one.

Larissa has the fortitude of a saint. She's been through the wringer and isn't backing down from any fight. I love strong heroines. Lots of times, heroines melt into the hero and lose who they are. Not so with Larissa. Even when Hank's driving her berserk and romancing her at the same time, she never loses an ounce of her self -- she remains true to who she is. I love how she stands up to him as well. Her reaction is easy to relate to -- she wants him to go far away and stay right there, because she's starting to love him as well as hate him for what he's done.

Hank is easy and hard to love. I know that makes no sense. He's easy to love because he's drop dead gorgeous and when he falls for Larissa, it's a beautiful sight to see. But, at the same time, his initial reason for being in her bar isn't on the up and up. Once I found out his motivation, I wanted to hate him. I wanted to shut the book, but I couldn't put it down. The way he repents is sweet and kept me right in my seat to find out what happened next.

Want a book filled with red-hot chemistry, a nasty antagonist, and a rollicking honky tonk? Then you need to read My Give a Damn's Busted. I give this book 4.5 books.
