GLEE, from Ryan Murphy (creator of Nip/Tuck) is an uplifting comedy musical series with biting humor that features a soundtrack of hit music from past to present. The show follows an optimistic high school teacher as he tries to refuel his own passion for singing while reinventing the school's glee club and challenging a group of ragtag performers to realize their star potential. Each episode of the series features an eclectic selection of hits from genres spanning pop, R&B, hip-hop, country, Broadway and rock and roll, reinterpreted through the lens of Murphy's modern sensibility and razorsharp wit.

Since getting this over a week ago I haven't listened to anything else while in my car. I force my friends to listen to me terrible singing. Something about this show and these songs have the ability to make me happy in a way I never knew possible. I highly recomend this to everyone!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars uplifting, Nov 11 2010

This album is worth it as the interpretation of the known songs has been modernized and given an uplifting beat. Album No. 2 is even better.
The voice harmonizations, arrangements, melodies, make me want to be one of the singers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Glee Soundtrack, Jan 1 2010

Although the show is too much of a teen-age soap opera to appeal to the average 63 year old male, most of the music is from the baby-boomer era and all of it is very well arranged and performed. I truly enjoyed listening to my son's Christmas present.
