Bob Blumer is an eccentric cook, which makes for a different cookbook; but it is fun, cheerful and interesting. It is not just recipes. He tells the story of his Toaster mobile and some of its and his adventures; picking grapes in France breaking Guinness records. There are many colour pictures included as well as an index.
He gives really good solid advice, filled with common sense but again in a fun spirit
Included is setting up your kitchen and preparing for a party. The recipe sections include: cocktail bites (Bee stings are not to be missed and are pretty simple), soups and salads, stovetop recipes, BBQ, (including pizza), desserts, breakfasts and his surreal food- lamb that looks like a cupcake and meatloaf that looks like carrot cake (that is very good and not that hard to prepare). Recipes range from the simple to complicated.
A tutorial on making Caesar salad and 20 ways to avoid making dessert are incorporated - which suggests among other things, to serve penny candy. Who wouldn't love that
This is a different type of cookbook, out of the ordinary, not for a beginning cook, unless they really want to be adventurous; but for anyone who enjoys food, has fun with it and wants to try something unusual.
