Product Description

WU LYF (an acronym of World Unite Lucifer Youth Foundation) have recorded one of the year's most highly anticipated debut records. The band ? a quartet from Manchester UK aged between 20 and 22 ? spent much of 2010 purposely avoiding the glare of the UK music industry. Instead they spent the year honing their live shows and perfecting the songs and story that would become Go Tell Fire To The Mountain. Fiercely independent, WU LYF decided to self-record, produce and release their debut album around the world on their own L Y F imprint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Go Tell This Album ON The Mountain..Classic! April 9 2012
By PuroShaggy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
One of the most exhilarating debut albums in a long time, WU LYF's "Go Tell Fire to the Mountain" bounces around in this weird musical melting pot where TV on the Radio joins forces with Animal Collective to jam in an empty grain silo with My Morning Jacket. Throw some Flaming Lips randomness in the mix and several bona-fide ear catching melodies, and its one of the most exciting albums to be heard in years.
Maybe I'm overreacting but I love everything about the album. The lead singer half sings, half screams and a lot of the lyrics I am not sure I comprehend, but I don't care. The energy and passion in every wailed note is pure rock 'n' roll (in a cathartic way), exalting the same powerful emotion whether loving you forever or spitting blood. The drums are huge, the guitars chime and then attack and then take off in solos, and then, when you least expect it, the piano takes over and the mood is nice and chill...for awhile.
It sounds raw, so be prepared. Organs battle for space with drums while the bass tries to hold it down underneath, and at times, everything seems to blend together into one cacophonous din. This is a good thing, however. This album is about spirit, energy, playing with emotion and letting the music take over and just happen.
Sorry if I made it sound too hippie. BUT I LOVE THIS ALBUM!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Album in Years April 27 2012
By A. S. DeLisi - Published on Amazon.com

WU LYF is probably the best band that I have heard in over a decade. They are amazing live as well. Recording in an abandoned church, this album is both beautiful and angry. All around just so full of life and worth checking out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wu LYF Aug. 19 2011
By The Komik Khan - Published on Amazon.com
What does that even mean, WU LYF? Appaently it stands for the "Lucifer Youth Foundation". Well 3 of the songs on this album are pretty awesome, with the rest being average to above average. Those top three for me being "Summas Bliss", "We bros", and the amazing, "Spitting Blood!" This album reminded me of a cross between "Man Man" and a bit of "Explosion in the Sky". WU LYF definatly brings something new to the table, with raunchy punk rock like vocals followed by melodic-soft riffs to compliment the raucous lyrics. In the end the few power songs on the album make up for the weaker ones. For any indie lover out there this just might be the new sound you've been waiting for.

This is life affirming music at its best; the kind that cuts through your skin and bone to reach a little deeper to that place called soul.
