Product Description

Gibblewort is a nasty little Irish goblin. One day he gets sick of the rain and damp of his homeland and decides to go to Australia instead. At first, he's delighted with his new home, which is sunny and dry. But when he gets to know the local flora and fauna, he gets more than he bargains for and makes a hasty retreat back home. The other goblins aren't pleased to see him back and when he gets really nasty, they threaten to send him back down under!

About the Author

Victor Kelleher is the author of numerous books for children and young adults, including Del-Del, Dogboy, and Master of the Grove. Stephen Michael King is the author of Leaf; Milli, Jack and the Dancing Cat; and Mutt Dog!; and has illustrated numerous children's books, including Piglet and Papa and Wacky Families.

This is the first of a series of seven adventures of a most repulsive and slightly stupid goblin, who wanders from Ireland to Australia. Lots of misadventures and misunderstandings! "Gibblewort" was a real discovery for me to include in storytellings on Australia for summer reading library programs, and I had children and parents ask about how to get their own copies.
