Book Description

Nov 16 2009
"This book absolutely crucifies the argument for a benevolent creator. What's more, it uses the creationist's most-cited source to do it." - dailyatheist.net God Hates You, Hate Him Back makes the ultimate case for the claim that the God of the Bible is the most wicked character in the pages of history. With a wit as dry as a martini, and the cross examination techniques of a seasoned lawyer, CJ Werleman lays out all sixty-six chapters of the Bible to present an irrefutable argument that indeed God hates us all. If you have never read or never fully understood The Bible because of it's lifeless 16th century King's English then you will do no better than this unique, comedic, 21st century summary of the greatest story ever sold, or in Werleman's own words 'never read'. God Hates You, Hate Him Back provides you with an arsenal of Biblical facts, stories, mythology and assertions to ensure you victory in your next religious debate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Could not put this book down Oct 9 2010
Format:Paperback
Although I am an avid fan of many authors critical of religion, CJ's book had that element of humor and entertainment that made me stay up way too late trying to finish "one more chapter". Growing up in a very strict religious household, I was already familiar with most stories from the bible, but this book put a new spin on these ancient myths and helped me look at them in a much different light. The book is serious enough to make you think, but never loses it's sense of humor. It's obvious CJ knows his biblical history and took a long time to put it all together in a book that will piss off religious folk everywhere. I highly recommend this book to anyone with a sense of humor and a critical thinking mind.

4.0 out of 5 stars Think you know what's in the bible? Oct 2 2010
Format:Paperback
Think again. Werleman does a chapter by chapter reading of the bible in its entirety, adding humourous observation and also pointing out the horrors, inconsistencies, and ridiculous contradictions that run throughout. I thought I knew quite a bit about the bible from Sunday School and attending church when I was young, so I was astonished to see what is actually written, and how truly vile the god of the bible is. It is a very important book that people should read. The bible and it's offshoot religions play such an important part in the world of today - it is vital that we should actually understand what is written in it. You will realize how much nonsense is spouted by men proclaiming to speak for god. Any negatives? Personally I would have liked it to be a harsher indictment of the bible. But I think the lighter tone will make it more appealing to people of all religious belief levels. I thoroughly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stating the Obvious to the Oblivious Aug 30 2010
Format:Paperback
The gospels according to saint CJ Werleman gracefully + more important Funnily provide us with some useful Knowledge when god ferbid Questioning the Beliefs of "Happy Clapper christians". You know the chosen ones with the perma Smile emanating from the Eternal Sunshine of their mindless Minds. Their pat answer is always "cuz it's in the Bible or the Talking Bible told them so" or cuz "Jesus loves me so" - Great end of conversation + you might as well be talkin' to a Bag of Rocks!! CJ rightly calls it the Greatest Book never Read and provides statistics showing these conservative Christian Clowns are not only Wandering the Desert aimlessly but also the Dessert + All You Can Eat Buffet Tables searching for God + Biscuits n Gravy + Fried Chicken without the Foggiest of Clues! He also shares Intelligent thoughts from some of our Brightest Minds in Dawkins Hitchens Harris + in keeping with da Funny "all we can do is Laugh" Biblical Parody of God Hates You, Hate Him Back has dare I say Smart Jokes from Penn + Teller, Lewis Black, Bill Maher + George Carlin's classic Imaginary Man in the Sky! ;) CJ is brilliantly Funny in pointing out the complete absurdity of this Man-made Hokum written many moons + many Religious Wars ago which brings us to Today and how Scary it is that Evangelical Fundy's of all Faiths take this crap literally!! Just look at Hottie Sarah Palin + Windbag Glenn Beck urging America + all Americans to "Return to God" - oh yoy - lord Help us all!! Yes a jealous, petty God who thought nothing of Wiping out entire Civilizations + Cities + Towns + innocent firstborn Children for Generations - surely We can all Wake the Hell Up + Give Praise to a Kinder Gentler Nicer person than that. Smile + the Whole World Smiles with You.... sigh..... ;)
