I thoroughly enjoyed the book from the fiction standpoint. The main character was very practical and very down to earth, especially relatable. Her frustration and frankness made the book worthwhile as an easy read. The book tackles a lot of the issues we face everyday, especially when it comes to self-doubt and personal insecurities. The only thing I didn't like about the book was its new age twists, especially the comment about "god is always changing" and how the ten commandments are old and don't need to be followed which I personally defintely do not believe, however I must remember this is just fiction and not intended as a book about religion (I hope). I would recommend the book as a good humorous easy-read.

If you like to read because you love words and the weaving of tales, then this is not the book for you. But, if you need a Sidney Sheldon version of God, then you might like it. While God on a Harley pretty well represents the biblical story of Christ, it lacks any real writing effort (it's actually really bad. Look for the phrase "pleased as punch!"). The bible says every knee will bow before God (not necessarily out of the free will of the knee-bearer) and in the novel, the lead character falls to her knees when confronted by God. The book is filled with references to the bible like this one, but the bible is way, way, way, way better.

My friend gave me this book when it was first published back in 1996 and since then I have probably bought and given 20 copies to various friends. It's an easy read, full of wisdom and inspiration. It's a must for anyone reassessing their life, wondering how they got where they are, wondering where they are going. Whenever I've having "one of those days," I pull it out and read it again. Within hours, I'm dancing around the house with the knowledge that life really is a magical journey.
