Book Description

Lina's trendy bakery in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is proving to be less than lucrative and she must come up with a plan to save it. When she stumbles upon an Italian Goddess cookbook, she can't help but think she's found the answer to her problem - even if it means invoking a goddess to save her business. Soon enough, Lina finds herself face-to-face with Demeter, who has a plan of her own. She proposes that Lina exchange souls with Persephone, the Goddess of Spring, who will breathe new life into the bakery. In return, Lina must set order to the Underworld. Before all this, Lina's problems mostly involved dough and second dates. Now that she embodies the enchantingly beautiful Persephone, Lina has weightier things on her mind - like the formidable task of bringing Spring to a world of spirits. But when the handsome, brooding Hades kindles a spark in her heart, Lina wonders if this Lord of the Underworld might be the man of her dreams... --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful magic!!, Sep 28 2004
By A Customer
I love the writing of P.C Cast. I stumbled upon her by accident when I used to use Amazon.com and read her "Goddess by Mistake". The author blends humour and fantasy all in one. This is mainly a romance book but, as I'm a fan of romance that didn't bother me. I liked this book even more than "Goddess of the sea". The characters were more fleshed out and supremely likable. I recommend this to anyone who likes fairy tales and romance dashed with humour.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful story, April 30 2011

This review is from: Goddess of Spring (Paperback)
I've read the House of Night series and was interested to read what P.C. Cast did on her own so I picked up Goddess of Light, which I adored. As a result I bought Goddess of Spring and it too was just excellent: it features an older leading lady (in her 40's) that's beautiful in her more mature body (not a perfect, lithe, taut size 3 young body often written about in romance novels) who has life's experience under her belt. This make her, and the resulting story line, more mature and even more beautiful in my opinion. The story is unique in that using an older character it was without (thankfully!) the annoying and usually tedious crap other romance novels have when dealing with virtuous and/or virginal young characters. Notwithstanding the more mature writing/character, there was plenty of romance, an engaging story line, and a beautifully unique ending - one that sticks with you long after you've read it (Goddess of Light was like that too). A keeper for me for sure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book!, Feb 10 2011
By

This review is from: Goddess of Spring (Paperback)
(I read this in 11 or 12 hours) It starts off a little ho hum but after the first little bit, oh man! hah I'm a huge fan of fantasy, especially anything that has to do with ancient greek myths. So when I saw this series of books you can imagine my delight. If you enjoy myths it certainly gives you a new perspective on certain gods/goddess's. Very steamy and smart, it has some humor in it. How I wish this story would continue! I know that's wishful thinking however hah I would strongly recommend this book, it's simply wonderful.
