5.0 out of 5 stars The single greatest Spirit-filled resource! May 4 2003
By mtk5150
I like Bono, too, but it matters little what endorsement Bono gives Dake's material, as it stands on its own.
In my opinion, Finis Jennings Dake is the finest Spirit-filled, Faith-oriented theologian/Bible teacher of the 20th century. Although many have set out to undermine the reputation of this dear saint of God and giant of the faith, they can't shut him up; his writings live on, the most prominent of which is "God's Plan For Man."
It's all here--1000 pages of the most concise, balanced, and profound doctrine concerning everything from the pre-adamic world to the return of Christ. There are also hundreds of pages of teaching on the basic "how-to's" of everyday Christian life--how to pray, what promises are available to the Christian today, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, a step by step exposition of the Lor's prayer, holiness, faith, putting complete trust in the word of God, miracles, deamons, angels, and everything else--EVERYTHING!
There are a few teachings that many will be troubled by, but I implore you to read such teachings in the context of Dake's overall view of man and his relationship to the spiritworld, God, angels, deamons, etc. Dake rightly contends that the beings of the spiritual world (angels, demons, and even God Himself) are as real and physical as we are, sighting a limitless number of scriptures to support his teachings.
And that is a point I can't stress enough: Dake profusely refers the reader to the Bible. My guess is he has cited tens of thousands of scriptures. I have yet to read a single claim made by Dake that is not generously supported with scripture.
Although most would use this work topically, I stronly suggest one sit down and read it all the way through. It will take a while, but it will surely be the most rewarding extended Bible study you've ever embarked on.
"God's Paln For Man" is a must for every Spirit-filled believer!
P.S. Get the Dake study Bible, too!

5.0 out of 5 stars God's Plan for Man April 18 2000
I received a copy of this book as a gift upon graduation from high school. I spent two years intensively studying it in conjunction with my Bible. It is the most complete and correct biblical guide I have ever found. If you are serious and diligently apply the principles as taught, it will change your life. Signs and wonders will follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great lesson in logical exposition of the Bible Feb. 26 2000

This book is valuable as a study aid simply because Rev. Dake takes a great deal of time explaining each concept and gives the scriptural references and in many cases the Bible verses. If one follows along with Bible in hand as you progress through the book, and ponder each concept, forming your own opinion, then you will gain a great deal of understanding regarding such subjects as the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible, the Deity of Jesus Christ, the Resurrection, the purpose of the Church, and final destiny.
I don't necessarily agree with everything Dake said here, but he was very astute and scholarly, and brings up many finer points of the Bible I had never noticed before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Theologically sound material May 11 2004
I have been using the Dake Annotated Reference Bible since I got saved 10 years ago. Recently I purchased God's Plan for Man, great book. At the moment I am reading straight through and I am only in the first lesson, but as with the reference Bible, it is excellent study material.
As for those who are criticizing the works of Dake, I would tell you like my pastor told me 10 years ago. Chew up the meat and spit out the bones. No, you may not agree with everything, but be like David was concerning Saul, don't touch God's annointed, even if you don't agree with everything he stands for. God Bless

While numerous others grope at what is meant concerning prophecy in the scriptures, 50 years ago this volume already revealed the truths regarding the last days. And while most Christian's are frustrated and and even exasperated when attempting to understand and converse about pre-historic man and humanistic teachings on the theory of evolution, Mr. Dake has unveiled the world before Adam and Eve in such a way as to allow the understanding of how both evolution and the truth of God's Word can coexist. And if you're having trouble comprehending and/or explaining the Trinity, look no further.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! Aug. 11 1999

Originally a weekly correspondance Bible study course, GPFM is the best, most balanced theological work of the 20th century. Whether it be history, holiness, Christ, God, Man, satan, the end times, or whatever, there is no subject in Scripture that cannot be understood as literally as it is written is the claim Dake makes, and he backs it with plenty of Scripture. At one point, he gives (I believe) 500 Scriptures supporting the Trinity. This is a fine choice for serious students of Scripture who wish to be well grounded in the Word. If there were 6 stars, I would give 6.

Often a book that is more than 50 years old reads just that way, a 50 year old book with 50 year old ideas. From the First page of this 52 lesson guide it reads as if it were written only yesterday. F.J. Dake has captured the timeless nature of the Bible and God's Plan for Man in his writting. This is one of the rare books that speaks to all ages of bible students and has crossed the generations that only God's word could do. This book should be next to your Bible if you want to study and learn the Bible, and 50 years from now you will still want to read these lessons
