If you like Motown, you like this [even if you don't, you'll still like it],

A deluxe edition featuring 25 Motown classics [and near classics], an additional 7 more than the CD only release. Plus there are an additional 4 tracks on the DVD.In fact the DVD is the most surprising. Aside from the 4 extra tracks, the album is available as DVD audio [not DVD-A though], MP3 and WAVE formats. There is also a 90 minute documentary where Collins actually talks about the recording and mixing as well as two promo videos. You see Collins in the dsocumentary playing the drums for the first time after his operations, seeing his kids help out in vocals and foot stomping, the Funk Brothers recording their parts [and the issues they faced] as well as other interesting tidbits.

Motown & Phil my 2 favorite things in 1 !,
This review is from: Going Back (CD+DVD) (Audio CD)
Totally wicked. Even cooler watching the documentary going in to why they did everything to make the album possible. Only set back was Make Me Blue music video isn't on the DVD. The DVD does have an extended version of the album in high quality to transfer to your computer. Lots of bang for the buck. Phil really pulled a lot of strings to make this album the best it can be for music lovers.

PHIL TAKES YOU BACK, BACK, BACK...,

This review is from: Going Back (Audio CD)
As much as Phil Collins maybe vilified these days as an aging pop-artist, (His first two solo albums are awesome works; everything else, take it or leave it.) the man does love the Motown sound. Collins provides a strong compilation of his favourites, presented as strong performances. Overall, a fine piece of work. For the uninitiated, this is a great introduction to Motown by a true fan.
