This disk really isn't very satisfactory. It offers a very limited view of 20th century golf, which is supposed to be its subject. I don't believe Joyce Wethered is even mentioned in passing, despite being, by any sensible standards, one of the greatest golfers of the century, and certainly much more significant than many of the figures who are featured in this DVD. Basically this is a very US-centric view of 20th century golf... and of course, US players did, largely, dominate the century, but they also certainly weren't the whole story. The presentation is also generally very poorly put together - not well written or edited, and very poorly authored as a DVD (it's all one big chapter with all navigation features disabled, so the only way to get to a point within the presentation is to start at the beginning and fast forward through everything). About the only things to be said in favour of this disk are 1) it does contain some interesting footage of 20th century golf, and 2) it's cheap.

My general feeling after watching the content of this dvd was of satisfaction, i got my money's worth for what this dvd left me with. The journey you take trough the HISTORY OF GOLF is well documented and carefully "chosen" so no big "event" is missing. The only downpoint of this dvd (and the reason i do not give it the 5 stars) is that there is not a quality MENU to work with, no diferent languages, audio options or subtitles. This dvd has (as a "plus") a "section" (that is the only other choise you have at the menu) where you get "instruction" as how to swing with what they call : "follow trough" , i think this material could be of some use. I recomend this dvd. 7 of 9 people found the following review helpful
