The Robin Williams Radio Show,
By
This review is from: Good Morning Vietnam (Audio CD)
This is the excellent soundtrack album to the film, "Good Morning Vietnam," interspersing classic tunes from the 60's by Martha & The Vandellas, The Beach Boys, James Brown, Them (w/ Van Morisson), Louis Armstrong and others, with comedy schtick by Robin Williams' DJ character, Adrian Cronauer, taken directly from the film, so listening to the album is like listening to "The Robin Williams 60's Flashback Radio Show," so to speak. The CD's very brisk running time of 35 minutes leaves you hungry for more, and Williams' aggressive comedy approach is more likely to just make you smile rather than double over laughing, but nonetheless, the "Good Morning Vietnam" movie soundtrack is a whole lot of fun, and especially a great disc to play during those hot summer days. :-)

Best soundtrack I own!,

What can i say... not only is this music on this soundtrack amazing but the comedy interludes from Robin Williams are never tiresome! Just listening to this makes you imagine you are in the Vietnam war! All the big boys are on this, like the Beach boys and James Brown... and damn, the start to this soundtrack, when Robin comes in with his real loud "Good Morning Vietnam" is worth buying this CD alone! A definite must for any serious music collector fan.... comes very close to the Forrest Gump soundtrack!

Great film, average soundtrack,

If you're a fan of this movie, I suggest you buy the film, don't be tempted to buy the soundtrack. To be fair, there are some good songs on the CD but most lose their listening appeal very quickly. The Robbin Williams audio clips are good, but again, if you're a fan of Robin, you should buy one of his many films or some of his standup material tapes/videos.
