Product Description

From the Back Cover

Luke's glorious account of the Christmas story highlighted by the "good news of great joy" delivered from the angel to the sheperds, is the text of the stunning gift book. Wonderful images of the very first Christmas- of the baby Jesus lying in a manger, of the sheperds' astonishment, of the heavenly host praising God- are depicted in lavish color by acclaimed artist Michael Dudash. Every page walks us through the story in its setting, reminding us of the message of Christmas: that God himself cam to earth and dwelt among us, to save us and give us hope and eternal life. This lovley book brings the Christmas story from the Bible to life and it is meant to be shared with friends, family, neighbors and co-workers and can be passed down in families for decades to come. This stunning book is a gift that helps the reading to celebrate the heart of Christmas, the birth of Jesus, our Savior.

I so appreciate this lovely presentation of the Christmas story as told in the NIV translation of Luke. The illustrations are realistic and beautiful. Mary and Joseph look Jewish. The angels are impressive. The setting looks like Israel. The story stops with the shepherds in Luke 2:20 so there's no mention of the wise men. This is a great way to introduce your children to the Christmas story of the Bible.

A fantastic illustrated story of the first Christmas - written just for children and published by Zondervan books. Uses Scripture to tell the story in a wonderful way. A classic "keeper" storybook for Sunday School, Christian classrooms and for home use by parents and grandparents.

I had a copy of this book, but gave it away to a friend from Japay not totally familiar with why we celebrate Christmas. Afterward I decided I needed another copy for the grandkids I hope to have someday.
