I purchased this book for my son who is almost 2. He likes owls and I thought he would enjoy an owl story. The book has nice illustrations and my son enjoys all the sounds the birds and the bees make. It's a simple story and my son often picks up the book and reads it to himself making all the animal sounds etc... I rated it 4 stars because it's a solid nighttime read, but not fantastic.

We originally took this book out of the library. I am completely enthralled by the art and my son just loves naming all the birds by their proper name and making the sound that goes with each. It was only after a bit of Googling that I discovered that this book is a classic, about 40 years old, from the hippie years. I was so pleased with it that I ordered one for us to keep.

I bought this book for my 3-year old. We checked it out at the library and after reading it every night for a week she could recite the entire book. She didn't want to return it so I bought it for her. Pat Hutchins is a great childrens author. The pictures are well illustrated and colorful. Don't worry about owl, he gets the last hoot in the end. Happy reading!!
