suprized at how good it sounds and looks for 1974,this is a great concert,to see coop in his prime with the original band.alice cooper were one of the biggest bands in the world supporting the billion dollar babies album, with one of the biggest and best live shows out there.shock rock was about to hit the world right in the face.everything that made alice, alice,is in here, snake, guilotine, and everything else kiss, bowie and ozzy ripped off.thank god they have a concert only option because the movie part is bad.very good 5 stars

I've had the DVD version of Good To See You Again Alice Cooper for several years. I love the original Alice Cooper band, and decided to buy the blu ray version of the show as (hopefully) an upgrade to my DVD copy. After watching the disk I can say that what's good about the DVD version is still good here on the blu ray, and that is the vintage concert footage of the Alice Cooper band on their 1973 Billion Dollar Babies tour. Yes, some scenes are darker than what we've become accustomed to from more recent concert blu ray releases filmed in HD, but given the camera and lighting technology of that era it's not bad either. It's classic Alice Cooper band, and that is good. In terms of blu ray picture quality it may be marginally better than the DVD version but I didn't notice a dramatic difference. The audio is also quite good, again particularly for the era that it was recorded. Now what is bad about this blu ray release is that they have omitted all of the hidden easter eggs that were included on the DVD release. Or, if they're there then they aren't found in the same places that they were on the DVD, and I haven't found them! The other problem with this blu ray release is in one of the bonus features, the audio for the uncensored Unfinished Sweet seems to be completely out of sync with the picture, which is not the case with the DVD version. As I don't own a second blu ray player I can't double check this audio issue on another machine, but since everything else on this blu ray disk plays in sync with the picture I don't think it likely that my player would have an audio issue with just this one bonus track. The final word is that this is a very cool concert by a great 1970's band who have little other concert footage available on DVD or blu ray.Read more ›

This is the only footage (that I know of) that has been released of the Alice Cooper Group before Alice went solo. Right at the end of their four classic record run. This being the Billion Dollar Baby tour. It was not shot very well and the film (like all Shout releases) looks like little or no work was done restoring it. But it's a great concert. Hit after hit. There are two ways to watch the film. The full 90 minute version which has painful to watch skits or go to the special features and watch just the concert. Both come with an HD audio track that sounds great.
Historiclly this gets a ten but the release only gets a 6 out of 10 because of the lack of retoration done to the film. But it's still an Awsome Show!

historical artifact Dec 8 2010

Alice cooper is soon to be in the rock and roll hall of fame,
he has created some of rocks greatest songs like 'I'm 18" a song that everyone of that age should hear.
he had tons of hit singles, but this was from that period when rock shows were interspaced with a 'movie'
it is of it's time in that regard but the concert footage and the movie do feature the original band. One of the poor guys has passed away too so this is a chance to see the original 'alice cooper'. the newer live stuff is better though like 'live at montreax' etc. and the newest edition live at hamersmith. But this one is a worth owning for alice fans for the vintage footage , the movie parts can be seen once I would say and then it's better to just jam with the band.

Dark Sept. 8 2013

Yes, it's dark. Literally. The footage isn't very good and the band is hard to see in many instances because of the lack of good lighting. But this was 1973, and concert films weren't a normal occurrence like they are in this era we live in.

But..... any Alice is better than no Alice. It was fun to see how he has progressed in the last 40 years by looking at this old footage.

This Blu Ray will probably collect dust on my shelf. I'm with the other reviewer in regards that the last 2 Blu rays he did are the cream of the crop.

This is not the version I'm familiar with. Dec 30 2010

The movie shorts between songs are pretty bad. The version I have had as a bootleg for years had old B&W clips that would have something to do with what the next song's subject matter was. This must have been too difficult to get licensing for, but it was much better than theses silly skits. It was more "Alice" too. A lot more. Not throwing away that vhs tape yet!
Hello Hooray! Excellent Footage & Concert April 29 2015

I was too young too go to an Alice Cooper Concert Billion Dollar Babies Tour so seeing this was exciting! The Original Alice Cooper Group is every bit of the legend people say they were! Yes, definitely the best band Alice ever had. Alice was at the top of his game here, vocals and performance were just outstandingly amazing and sick! You got to see this if you want to experience the early days of The Coop!
