About the Author

Dame Catherine Cookson began writing novels when she was forty and has had nearly one hundred books published. In her twenties she moved south to Hastings where, after the tragic loss of four babies and a mental breakdown, she began to use her experiences in the North East as the inspiration for her hugely popular novels. In 1976 she returned to Northumberland with her husband Tom and continued to write almost up to her death in 1998. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Don't always believe a poor review. Aug. 8 2015

Love those English authors!! Have read all of the books that she has written that you have available. Wish there were more. Almost didn't get the 1st Hamilton book as it had a poor review. Then I noticed that it was only one person's opinion and I gave it a try. Great writing. Could hardly wait to read the other 2 sequels.
A nice conclusion to the series. June 8 2015

I enjoyed this third book of the series. This is one of the later books by Ms Cookson and is a different genre from her earlier works. It is very enjoyable though and I found it is yet another of her "cannot put it down" books.

Haven't read the book yet, but have read at least 25 of Catherine Cookson books. Love her writings. Have shared them with friends and family, now they are hooked on her books as well.
