Product Description

CAN I GET A “RAMEN” FROM THE CONGREGATION?!

Behold the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM), today’s fastest growing carbohydrate-based religion. According to church founder Bobby Henderson, the universe and all life within it were created by a mystical and divine being: the Flying Spaghetti Monster. What drives the FSM’s devout followers, a.k.a. Pastafarians? Some say it’s the assuring touch from the FSM’s “noodly appendage.” Then there are those who love the worship service, which is conducted in pirate talk and attended by congregants in dashing buccaneer garb. Still others are drawn to the Church’s flimsy moral standards, religious holidays every Friday, or the fact that Pastafarian heaven is way cooler: Does your heaven have a Stripper Factory and a Beer Volcano? Intelligent Design has finally met its match–and it has nothing to do with apes or the Olive Garden of Eden.

Within these pages, Bobby Henderson outlines the true facts– dispelling such malicious myths as evolution (“only a theory”), science (“only a lot of theories”), and whether we’re really descended from apes (fact: Humans share 95 percent of their DNA with chimpanzees, but they share 99.9 percent with pirates!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Not a Bible, but clever and entertaining, Jun 22 2006

No verses, no prophets stories, no FSM words. Overall, only two chapters or so are spent at describing FSM deeds in a Bible-like manner. But the book is nonetheless a "must have" in my opinion: Bobby made a very good job at describing current holes in natural sciences and explaining why FSMism could easily plug into them, all of this in a non-stop hilarious fashion. For me, it really was a great fun to read. Nevertheless, I do would have liked the text to be divided into verses so to better cite The Prophet...

5.0 out of 5 stars Read this book, for His Noodliness commands it, Nov 29 2009

This review is from: The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (Paperback)
This is one of the most hilarious books I have ever read. Flying Spaghetti Monsterism was originally inspired by the proposal of a Kansas school board to teach pseudo-scientific 'intelligent design' in science classrooms. This book is a humorous, but also scathing, critique of the folly of organized religion, with special attention paid to Christianity. It demonstrates with impeccable logic and clarity that Flying Spaghetti Monsterism is actually a more viable, believable, and supremely awesome religion to follow than any other.

I highly recommend this book. If you are religious, it will, at least, offer an interesting counterpoint to your views, and at best, it will save you from making the same mistakes that billions of others have made throughout history. If you are not religious, this book will serve as a great source of entertainment and a stockpile of ammunition to use in theological debates. If you decide not to read this book or convert to Pastafarianism, however, don't worry - unlike the Christian god, the Flying Spaghetti Monster does not threaten to kill you for not believing in Him.

5.0 out of 5 stars FSM Book, Dec 31 2011
This review is from: The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (Paperback)
This book arrived quickly and was in excellent condition. It was everything I had hoped for. The irony throughout the book was great, and I had a great laugh reading it. I never saw myself joining an organized religion until now! Aaaarrrr matey!
