Product Description

OK, so life has given you an assignment: You are a teenage girl who has to develop, evolve and mature into a happy and successful woman. There is no turning back now. The wheels of life are in motion. You are on the road to becoming an adult, like it or not! Who can you turn to for advice or direction? Television talk shows mostly address adult situations or extreme situations for teens. Teen magazines promote glamour, fashion, hairstyles and boys as what it's all about. And your friends, although you love them, are going through much of the same stuff that you are. You can share your concerns with them, but you want someone to talk to who's been there. Even if you are fortunate enough to have parents who are attentive and want to be there for you, it is still often difficult to take advice from them. You feel that they still see you as a "kid", or like you used to be, when you feel so different now. So where does all this leave you? What's a girl to do? This book is written especially for you! In the following nine chapters, you will find straight talk and insights on issues that you're facing. I hope you will find the information interesting, thought-provoking and most of all ...helpful!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Resource!, Mar 30 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Graduating Girlhood: A Teenage Girl's Guide to Success in Relationships and Life (Paperback)
My daughter recieved this book as a gift for her 13th birthday. It was perfect timing! We needed to be talking about these issues, but I was not sure how to bring them up in a constructive way. I would read a chapter during the day and my daughter would read it when she got home from school, then after dinner we would talk about the contents of that chapter...it really opened up alot of positive communication.
This book is easy to read, and right on target for what teen girls are starving to know more about as they make their way through these years of important choices for themselves.
It includes all the things I'm trying to teach my daughter, so it is awsome to be coming from someone other than me. Evans did a great job and you can tell she is really in touch with this age group! Highly Recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Book For All Ages, Dec 5 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Graduating Girlhood: A Teenage Girl's Guide to Success in Relationships and Life (Paperback)
I purchased this book as a gift for my teenage niece and found myself at first leafing through it and then later reading the entire book! This is truly an inspirational book for all who read it. Though it's directed at the teen sector, I found affirmations that still ring true for adults. We do still need to be told that our self-worth is not dependent on others assessments of ourselves. This book is perfect for teens because it speaks to them on their level--it doesn't try to preach a philosophy that may still be foreign to some teens. Ms. Evans gets to the heart of teens...and adults. Great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Graduating Girlhood, Nov 8 2002

This review is from: Graduating Girlhood: A Teenage Girl's Guide to Success in Relationships and Life (Paperback)
Graduating Girlhood is a must-have for anyone who has a pre-teen or teenage daughter. I am so thankful to the author for offering a book that is full of information that Mothers and Fathers appreciate, written in a language that really speaks to teen girls. The book is motivational and inspires girls to take charge of their lives and consciously create the future they want. It encourages self exploration and teaches life skills that are invaluable.

My twelve year old daughter and I have both read Graduating Girlhood. It has helped initiate many meaningful conversations and has opened avenues of introspection that I see leading to changes in my child's perspective and attitude. My husband also read the book and loved it! He only wishes there were such words of wisdom and advice to offer young men!

I highly recommend this book.
