When you start GTA4 you don't understand exactly why the creators put as the main character Niko Bellec... this is until you don't know the character and don't played the game very much, because it don't take too much time to you feel how it is to live in a big city and to join the crime trying to make the living. GTA evolved perfectly in the new generation of gamming.

I bought this game because I wanted to bat-bang people in the streets, hook up with hookers, and fly a chopper in the subway tunnels of a big city. I didn't know much else about this game because the last console I had was a Super Nintendo, I stopped following the new computer games release because I was too poor to upgrade my machine and I've always been more of a retro-gamer more than anything else (well, if you take away H20 and hydrogen) and when I finally bought a PS3, it was because my Blockbuster Video was closing down and I got a 50% discount on it. Anyway, I bought the game for the ab ante reasons I wrote before. I must say first that I am not an « online » guy (or, at least, I was not --- because when it comes to GTA5, « online » becomes the only way to play the game IMO) and that I focused mainly on the storytelling mode. I was really surprised bu the many satirical elements of the game and I got sucked by the long story, full of surprises and twists, and must also reveal that I was moved by the surprisingly sad tale of the Serbian main character (which is kind of contradictory because he always complain about how dirty war is...but will shoot how many persons to get his way to the top). The many different side-characters that you may interac with (by going to hit the bowling alleys or the popular and less popular nightclubs) are also funny and engaging and it is a blast to go out with Kiki in your Annihilator chopper. I don't know how but I never got bothered of replaying this game, just chilling in my helicopter, before machine gunning the hotdogs vendors, calling my friends for some backup in the midst of WW3. Man!, there must be a lot of syntactic and grammatical errors in this review! « Like it » if you found any.

I love this series, and this is a great addition. Driving seemed really strange at first compared to the other games, and took about 15 minutes of crashing into everything for me to get used to, but after that it just flowed.

- Great story.
- Multiplayer kicks butt.
- Fun little mini-missions and collector missions.
- GIANT play area.
- Awesome racing action.
- Awesome gunfighting.

My only (minor) complaints:
- I get lost ALL THE TIME because the city is so huge!
- There are people in the story that you should, in theory, be able to hunt down and kill... but they're just nowhere until the plot says it's time for them to die. Ah well.
- Nico just complains and complains and complains... geezes guy...

This is the deepest game I've seen so far. The environment is wide, and you can do anything, from playing pool, to watching tv for 20 minutes of funny stuff, to surf the net, to read and send emails. Even junkmails have working links that lead you to very funny web sites... It's like The Matrice.

Still, the main story is also great, and in the GTA tradition, you have to steal and drive all kinds of cars, while listening to hundreds of mp3s on the radio... I spent hours driving around without a goal, just causing havok and running from the police for the fun of it.

There's something for everyone, and hundreds of hours of fun gameplay.

I don't normally award games a perfect score but if I could I would give GTAIV better than a 10/10. It's simply one of the most amazing games I have played. The amount of gameplay is insane and even after you attain the near impossible and complete this game 100% there is still another 100 plus hours just exploring this massive, awesome and totally alive city. Each member of the city walking the streets has their own agenda and so many incredible random events take place, I swear each time I start up the game I see something new. With the 360 version, Rockstar just keeps piling on the fun with new downloadable content starting with "The Lost and the Damned".

Now after playing GTA 5 I can look back at 4 and see how this game has evolved. It's a good mix of action, and online fun. I enjoyed the storyline and the overall game play

I understand your frustration but people need to relax. I also pre-ordered the game in early April and was expecting it on launch date only to find my delivery date was changed to a one month wait on April 29th.

Today I received confirmation that my GTA-IV is available and is currently being shipped. Hopefully you will receive your pre-orders soon as well. I sincerely hope that amazon learns from their mistake of listing the delivery date as the launch date when they don't have sufficient inventory for all of the pre-orders.

GL!
