In San Andreas, you had to stop in restaurants and feed yourself, or you get weak and tired. That's an annoying bore, but this game adds a needy cousin who is constantly phoning to hang out. And you can't just ignore him (or kill him). Why would I want to play a wide-open violent free-for-all when I could take phone calls from my stupid cousin and go bowling with him? Great! I have enough annoying friends in real life.
On top of that, the controls are worse than previous games and it's way too easy to get shot to death by the cops. Overall, just no FUN.
The protagonist is aware that he's a despicable character and doesn't really care. A recurring theme is that he's only good at killing people and all he cares about is making money. How can I care about this character?
Beyond that the game is pretty high maintenance having you play mini game after mini game. The most fun is to be able to hop into a car and get into some trouble, yet the police is extremely efficient and WILL get your number. There's very few pick up and play elements, and customization is pretty well non-existent letting you choose from maybe 20 separate looks which some are horrendous. Basically it leaves you with 5 decent looks of various colours which are pretty boring.
The game's multiplayer is very good, and is in many ways the best part of the game. The story takes a long time to get good, and in the end there are very few true repercussions for your actions. Which would have made things more interesting.
As it is, its a pretty generic story based game. As far as I'm concerned the replay value is pretty low as I don't feel pulled back to the game in any serious way the same way I was with previous installments. This, for me is very much a spiritual sequel to GTA III. I expect a much superior product in the next release
wondering if anyone else has found its low res graphics annoying.

I received the package on time and the cd worked but the case was broken.Published 2 months ago by Matthew T.
Bought mine used, it literally had a cigarette burn in the front of the package and someone hadn't wiped the previous game. Decent for the price though.Published 9 months ago by Tiffany
