Product Description

Review

Praise for Anna Dressed in Blood:

"At once as eerie and terrible as it is sad and romantic, Anna Dressed in Blood is not your normal ghost story. […] This captivating story pulls no punches, making for a breathless read that lingers in the imagination long after the last page is turned."—NPR

"Abundantly original, marvelously inventive and enormous fun, this can stand alongside the best horror fiction out there. We demand sequels."—Kirkus Reviews, starred review

"Anna Dressed in Blood is a dark and intricate tale, with a hero who kills the dead but is half in love with death himself. By the end of the book, you will be too. Spellbinding and romantic."—Cassandra Clare, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Mortal Instruments series

"Cinematic and compelling. Blake’s smooth combination of gore and romance should have little problem attracting the Twilight crowd.”—Booklist

"It's the old boy meets girl story, if the boy is a wry, self-destructive ghost-hunter bent on avenging his father and the girl is a homicidal ghost trapped in a house full of everyone she's ever murdered. Needless to say, Cas and Anna are my new favorite twosome. When I got to the last page, I flipped back to the first."—Holly Black, New York Times bestselling author of Red Glove

A perfect gift. I had so much fun writing for my first grandchild, and I relived so many memories, that I am now am working on "Grandmother Remembers" for my other three grandchildren. There is plenty of space (and prompting) for your own inspiration, yet lots of easy-to-fill blanks. I find these books especially interesting for children from multinational backgrounds, as they can learn about their ancestors' customs and how they grew up. The book covers everything! I recommend it highly to any grandparent who wants to be remembered as "special". But, I would also advise - take your time and let your inspiration and memories make this book a really meaningful gift. I used a pad to write things out first, and kept going back to edit and add before actually writing in the book. I hunted through old photo albums and boxes for just the right pictures. I found one picture of my oldest son's first Christmas, standing next to a toy that was almost identical to one we had given his son - our first grandson - on his first Christmas. I had not remembered that toy. But imagine my joy, and my grandson's surprise, when I closed the album with this particular snapshot!

I bought this book when it first came out in the 80's. My grandmother's life was always a mystery to my family. She never wanted to talk about it. This book helped her to realize that her life was important to us. The prompts were gentle and slowly she opened up to each question. Her story has helped us all to understand what she experienced. This book asks the gamit of geaneology questions and covers what we may not have thought about asking on our own. It has become the source for many a class project as our family trees are an ever famous topic through the various grade levels. This has been a way for my children to get to know their great grandmother and obtain the information from her first hand. It has made us realize the importance of obtaining one for each generation of the family.

I bought this book in 1983 for my Grandma to fill out for me. Now that she has passed on, this book is a priceless, timeless gem, and a gift to me, as well as to my own children to pass down the stories, family tree, insight into the times when my Grandma was young, and is a great source of comfort for me.
If you are a Grandma, buy the book and give this gift to your grandchild. It will make so much of a difference. It is a treasure that keeps alive everything you loved, what happened during each stage of your life, and will be treasured by any grandchild who treasures you.
I HIGHLY Recommended this book for its timeless comfort and memories. It is a genuine gift in all regards. Barbara Rose, author of 'Individual Power' and 'If God Was Like Man'

My grandmother was so very important to me. I gave her this book and she filled it out without me knowing. I found it the day she died. She wrote about her life, my grandfather, her parents, brothers, sisters and most importantly my dad who passed away four months before she did. I found out things I had not known and would never have known because of my daddy's early death and my grandmother's untimely death. I treasure this book and read it often. I feel as though Ma and Daddy are still with me. If you have a grandmother who is very important to you or you have a special grandchild this is the gift to give. It is wonderful! I am filling out "Mom Remembers" for my 11 week old daughter.

This book can be the key to relating to your grandchild by sharing your recollections of days gone by, your hopes and dreams for the future and wonderful remembrances of the distant, and recent past. The "written heirloom" shared with my beloved granddaughter had to be tied with a ribbon to close, it was so "chock full" of words, mementos tucked in alongside clippings, photos, artwork and other tidbits of love I wanted to share with her...and a similar project is in the works for her envious older brother! It may take awhile, but every memory shared will be worth it. Consider this book an investment in joy that will keep blessing on through the years.

I gave these books to my mother and my husbands mother for mothers day! They are a great way to leave a part of themsleves to my little girl! My next step is to give one to my grandmother! They had such amazing lives, immagrating, witnessing tidal waves, rasing 17 children alone when your husband dies!! I never want these stories to be forgotten! This is how not to forget!

What a charming "do it yourself" story about my family, my thoughts and my memories. Judith Levy helped me to tell my story to my grandchildren in a pleasant and easy "complete this sentence" format.
Now, whenever a friend of mine becomes a first time grandma, I gift them with a copy of Grandmother Remembers.
this book is a winner!

When I visit with old friends I take a copy of Grandmother Remembers instead of a bottle of wine or a box of cookies which are quickly consumed and as quickly forgotten. The response to this book is magical. It always evokes an evening of nostalgia and fun and memories of times past. It makes me feel good just thinking about it.
