About the Author

Bev Callaghan, RD, is an experienced food writer and dietitian. She has written frequently for a number of national magazine, including Canadian Living and Homemaker's. She was most recently co-author of the book, Suppertime Survival.

Lynn Roblin, M.Sc., RD, worked as a public health nutritionist before becoming an independent nutrition consultant and writer. Her articles have appeared in Canadian Living, Homemaker's and Kidsworld. She currently writes a weekly nutrition column for the Toronto Star.

I can't remember how I came to have this book, but I know there is no way I could live without it now! It is my family meal planning and cooking bible, and I swear by all of the recipes. I love the way each recipe gives the breakdown of servings from the Canada food guide as well as suggestions for accompaniments to round out the meal. The best part of the book is that all of the recipes are quick to prepare and cook. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for fast, delicious recipes...the fact that they are healthy is a bonus!

I bought this years ago, and I've turned back to this book again and again. The recipes are simple to follow, and taste great. Favourites include Date Oatmeal Cake with Mocha Frosting, Salmon with Roast Vegetables, Lazy Lasagna and Fast Chili. Recommended especially for beginner cooks.
