About the Artist

Sharon, Lois & Bram Bio Long before they became a trio, Sharon Hampson, Lois Lilienstein and Bram Morrison were familiar faces at music festivals, workshops and school programs - entertaining, teaching and singing wherever children's music was being enjoyed. It was through their work with Mariposa in the Schools in Toronto that Sharon, Lois & Bram met. The three performers quickly learned that they shared a simple common philosophy: children deserve the very best music we can give them. In 1978, they recorded their album "One Elephant”, still their most popular. With its eclectic musical mix, it was an instant success, becoming the fastest selling children's album ever produced in Canada. In their 25 year career SL&B have released 21 full-length albums including "Sing A to Z" [songs for every letter of the alphabet], "Mainly Mother Goose" [nursery songs and rhymes], and "Let’s Dance" [mostly 50's and 60's songs selected for your dancing pleasure]. Their most recent releases contain songs from their TLC/CBC series, Skinnamarink TV: "Friends Forever”, Skinnamarink TV”, and “Silly and Sweet Songs”. The Trio are a multi-faceted performing powerhouse. In addition to their recordings, they have performed well over one thousand concerts since 1978, including a run at the renowned Palace Theater on Broadway, The White House, and at UNICEF's 50th anniversary at The United Nations. They have created and starred in two popular TV series: the long-running "Sharon, Lois & Bram’s Elephant Show" on CBC and Nickelodeon, and their current hit series "Skinnamarink TV", now in its third season on TLC and CBC in Canada. Sharon, Lois & Bram's commitment to children does not end on the stage and on the screen: they have been Goodwill Ambassadors for UNICEF since 1988, and they actively support causes that seek solutions to childhood hunger and illiteracy. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Children and Parents, Jun 17 2004

This review is from: Great Big Hits (Audio CD)
I was delighted with this CD. It contains familiar (How much is that doggy in the window?) and unfamiliar songs (Grandpa's Farm), but the surprising thing is: the unfamiliar songs are as good and sometimes better than the old faithfuls! Within two listens of this CD, I was singing the songs to my daughter when we out walking with our stroller, with no CD player in sight!

Unlike many other children's CDs, with their plinky synthesizer music, Sharon, Lois and Bram employ real instruments - fiddles, flutes, drums, guitars, and the arrangements range from country to jazz to classical to rock to Celtic. Thus, I don't mind listening to this CD and my 11-month old daughter loves it!

I was so happy to find this CD for my 2 year old granddaughter. We play it in the car all the time and she LOVES it.
Her mom used to watch the Elephant show when she was little, and it's wonderful to see how this timeless trio still makes little ones fill with joy.
Great investment.
I recommend this to all new parents, and grandparents. The music is easy to the ears, anda the songs are easy to sing along with.
