V1 Greatest Hits by Earth Wind & Fire
i can hear you, "what earth wind and fire" sorry but this is one of the most influential bands of the 70's and 80's. they brought funk, r&b and soul into the mainstream. yes they played a little disco but mostly they played funk. this album contains a good selection of their best radio music but you have to explore their other albums to really appreciate them. They brought the bass into the forefront. Horns became the norm and keyboards dominated. Excellent vocals as well. there is more to this band then sequence costumes and glitter.

I first got this disc for my dad who loves Earth, Wind and Fire. I had never really listened to funk before: I didn't grow up with it (like my dad), and I normally just bought popular alt rock and soundtracks. Well I fell in love with this album, and my journey into Funk began. If you're interested in a great compilation cd this would be the one I most highly recommend. :)
