2.0 out of 5 stars Could of been better Feb 2 2011
By Gis A. Bun TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Well. If you wanted all the promo videos from Bon Jovi, don't expect it in this collection - unfortunately. Bon Jovi and/or the label decided to match 17 promo videos with live tracks. So you get about 85 minutes of promo videos with about 95 minutes of live tracks - a few of them unreleased but most released previously on their various concert DVD releases.

What I didn't like is that the promo videos weren't in full screen or widescreen. Instead you have the promo videos in the center of the screen with black borders on all four sides. Some of the promo videos weren't even cleaned up. Almost as if they were copied from a VHS cassette.

As for the live videos, there is no continuity. The promo videos are in one track. The live videos are in many tracks. On top of that there was little fading in or out. So you will hear the fans cheer at the end and then the audio and video drops. Some of the live tracks are wide screen but some [from the older DVDs] have the same four black sides like the promo videos.

I think most fans couldn't care less about the live videos that are already released. So what they should of done is released all the promo videos, the few unique live videos and throw in some live chestnuts such as the Bad Name/Living acoustic video from the MTV awards [which help start the unplugged era].

4.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Collection of 17 Video Clips of Some of Bon Jovi's Greatest Hits Jan 18 2011
By James N Simpson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
This is a nice collection of 17 of Bon Jovi's songs, what you might want to know before clicking on the purchase this tab, is that it isn't a comprehensive collection of all their singles or even singles that had film clips. It's just a random assortment of some of their film clips throughout Bon Jovi's career, 17 of them, well 16 actually, since Blaze of Glory was not a Bon Jovi song but instead a Jon Bon Jovi standalone artist release. There's one new film clip called What Do You Do which is obviously there to promote their new greatest hits music CD which has a lot more songs on it than this DVD. I don't think that song will be as popular as Always was from their last greatest hits album Crossroad. Always by the way is on here, as are some of their biggest songs such as Livin' On a Prayer, Wanted Dead or Alive and It's My Life. A lot of popular big selling singles are left off though such as Something for the Pain, Raise Your Hands, One Wild Night, Miracle (if you're including Jon Bon Jovi songs) and some of these had brilliant film clips. In fact a lot of Bon Jovi's left off this DVD film clips, had a lot bigger budgets, and were more artistic than a lot of the ones on here, which are mostly just concert rehearsal, actual concert or mock concert footage playing as the studio version of the song provides the sound. I do like and enjoy watching those concert style film clips, this is how 90% of film clips were for all artists, in the 80s, but I would have liked to have seen the later album singles with the more movie type film clips on here as well, even if arguably they weren't better songs. I don't know why this was limited to just 17 film clips.

You also get 17 live tracks, the orange rectangle on the cover claims them to be the greatest live performances. They're not, not even close. Clearly whoever put that on there hasn't been to a Bon Jovi concert as most of the live performances don't do the greatest live band in the world justice at all. I mean It's My Life from Madison Square Garden, only the computer background graphs react to this song, the crowd doesn't. Plus all live tracks are exactly the same songs as the film clips ones, surely this would have been an opportunity to include, Everyday, Blood on Blood, Some Day I'll Be Saturday Night, Wild in the Streets, Sleep When I'm Dead and other major concert playlist songs which either didn't have film clips or were left off instead. To make matters worse, they aren't even new live film clips, if you own other live DVDs by Bon Jovi, you're going to be doubling up. It's like this DVD is supposed to promote you to go out and buy the other full concert DVDs by providing these samples. I would have preferred the live tracks were left off all together and more Bon Jovi film clips were here instead but at the very least new live versions should have been used.

It's an all right DVD to buy, interesting to watch the changes in the appearances of the band throughout the years as you relive the film clips, many you no doubt haven't seen for years, but it just could have been so much better! Plus commentaries on the film clips would have been nice. In fact there are no special features at all which is very disappointing.

At the time of this review Amazon hadn't provided the tracks (videos) for this. As I said all live songs are the same as the film clips.

3.0 out of 5 stars See it on You Tube Dec 2 2010
By DeBee1015 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
Honest opinion, and the people who know me know I'm a huge Bon Jovi fan.

I bought this from Amazon.co.uk since once again us American Bon Jovi fans have to wait after the rest of the world gets things released we're the last ones (see the release dates of The Circle, MSG DVD, and the Greatest Hits).

It's a DVD which means DVD quality. It's not remastered so the quality is just as good as the other DVD's I have or even watching the videos on Bon Jovi's Vevo channel. The only new items on here are the Video for What Do You Got, and a Live version of the same song from Peru. I wish they remastered the videos and made this a blu ray with other extras (like Jon and Richie talking about the Greatest Hits, oh wait you can see that on You Tube too).

I think a little more effort could have been put into the product to make it 4 or 5 stars.
