The Saskatchewan Roughriders boast the leagues most die-hard fans. Attendance at Rider games averages 24,000an astounding eight per cent of Reginas population! What kind of a team can lay claim to those kind of figures? A team that began in 1910, survived two world wars, the Depression, 27 losing seasons and the longest playoff drought in league history. Their Grey Cup tally? Just two.
What the statistics dont show is the teams phenomenal history and spirit, complete with the personalities, the players, the coaches and the fans who continue to show that there is no pride like Rider pride. Green Grit is that story, a fascinating and anecdote-filled tribute to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, from one of the games most respected writers.
