Review

"I like the way Larry Winget practices tough love. He doesn't tell you what you want to hear so you'll feel warm and fuzzy; he tells you what you need to hear so you'll feel uncomfortable and improve your life. Do yourself a favor and read this book."
—Mark Sanborn, bestselling author of The Fred Factor and You Don't Need a Title to Be a Leader

"There's only one person in the world who could write this book.  And lucky for you - he did. I dare you to read it.  You may love it.  You might hate it.  But read it."
—Randy Gage, author of the New York Times bestseller Risky is the New Safe

"It has never been more important for you to stand up for yourself and your rights.  In Grow A Pair, Larry explains practical strategies for protecting yourself, your family and our country!"
—Grant Cardone, TV's TurnAround King

"Larry Winget is the perfect balance of you 'get over yourself' and 'take responsibility.'  You don't have an ounce of breathing space to be less than, blame, or wait for success.  This is why no one has the ability to get you fast results in your life or business like Larry.  Few books can kick your butt so far so fast.”
—Suzanne Evans, award winning entrepreneur and life coach at Be The Change

“Winget emboldens readers to blaze a path through life with a strong sense of purpose, self-possession, and the ability to learn from criticism and failure.” –Publishers Weekly

"A fast-read with powerful messages and easy concepts." –Examiner.com

Loved this book!

Our book club author Patti Pokorchak wrote:
It’s well worth reading any or all of his books. He might make you angry or annoyed, but if you stop and wonder why – there’s probably some validity in what he is saying. And there is something in your life that he’s woken you up to.

This particular book is about rejecting victimhood in favor of taking control of your life and taking personal responsibility for yourself. No more excuses, no more playing the doormat. Stand up for yourself, for your rights and don’t let anyone get you down or let the bullies get their way. Stop putting up with excuses and poor service.

Change yourself, change your world. Winget focuses is on the source of American Exceptionalism, personal responsibility. No whining, no magical thinking, see the situation as it is, take ownership for your role in the situation and take the right actions to correct it. This book will never grace the bookshelves of Pelosi, Reid or Dear Leader himself. That alone is a recommendation.

I would recommend this book to anyone who needs to grow a pair or lost their pair. As Larry says in this book: "You can't change the world, but you can change your world. Living with a pair is proactive, not reactive."

Incredibly Disturbing ... Becauxe It's So True! Sept. 21 2013
By Deborah Dubree - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
"Grow a Pair" calls us out! Frankly I find this book incredibly disturbing. Not the title of the book or Larry`s style of delivering the truth in a raw, real, simple and straightforward way. In fact, I really like all of that.

What I find disturbing is how right Larry is! He writes about how soft we have become as a society, as parents, so-called leaders and more. How the need to grow a pair is greater than ever.

But wait, there's more!! Larry doesn't leave us hanging in the wind trying to figure out what to do next. He lays out exactly what it means to NOT have a pair. Then the reader is told specifically what it takes TO grow a pair. PLUS, there are exercises to walk us through the entire process.

This is not just a `must read.' It's a must read and TAKE ACTION book. I'm growing my pair bigger, thanks to Larry. What about YOU?

A Message That Needs to Be Heard Sept. 19 2013
By Valerie Young - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
There will no doubt be those who will either be put off my the title (it doesn't mean what you might think) or try to politicize the message to support a particular ideology. Both would be a mistake.

At its heart Larry's message is one of standing up for yourself and for those who can't stand up for themselves. It's about not accepting bad customer service, self-serving politicians, irresponsible parenting, being treated poorly in a relationship or in life.

It's about showing up for yourself and taking responsibility for acting on your goals, about expecting more from yourself and others, and about finding your voice and using it.

It's about not passively accepting whatever the TV pundits on BOTH sides of the political spectrum spout as fact. But rather stepping up to be an informed citizen to seek out facts and to complain less and vote more.

It's about getting crystal clear on your core values and then having the courage of your convictions to do the right thing even when it's uncomfortable, unpopular, or may cause people not to like you something that can be a challenge especially for women.

Do I agree with everything Larry says? Not at all. But Larry would be the first person to encourage myself and others to grow a pair and say and do what we mean.

I highly recommend this book highly and without reservation.

Great Book! Larry Has Done It Again. Sept. 12 2013
By Frank De Raffele - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This review is geared for those who have not read any of Larry's other books. If you have read his books before you either love them or hate them. Most people I know, LOVE THEM. So YOU don't need this review, because this book is just like the others....GREAT!

If you are not a Larry Winget fan yet, you are about to be. Larry takes the no-nonsense approach to personal development. He makes us look in the mirror and realize that we all have the power we need to be the best that we can be and to help others do the same. He has a great commitment to family, community and country. I know, you're thinking...."He doesn't look very friendly, and he seems pretty in your face." Well, he is pretty in your face, but he does it out of his own passion for all of us. (He will hate that I used the word passion in this review. Tough Larry, deal with it!) He is actually a very caring guy that is all soft on the inside.

He makes us realize that we all need to do what is right and to have the backbone to do it for ourselves, our kids, and our world. I always enjoy Larry's style of writing and speaking. He cuts out all the fluff and gets right down to what it takes to become more successful. His principles apply to every aspect of our lives (personal, business, family, home, community).

So,go pick up this book. Read it and apply it. You will enjoy the read and you will have a lot BFO's. (Blinding Flashes of the Obvious) You will be inspired and hopefully become motivated to do what you need to do.

Thanks Larry for another great book. Now, when is the next one coming out? Let's not take so long this time. I am already in the need for my next fix!

What I Learned from Larry Winget's Grow A Pair Sept. 22 2013
By Christine Ellis - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
"Do what you said you would do, when you said you would do it, the way you said you would do it" - Larry Winget "Grow A Pair". Larry clearly outlines the ways we fail ourselves, our children, our employers and our community by lacking the ability to be committed to stand up for what we know to be right and truthful. He makes excellent points about standing up to bullies, doing a full days work because you get paid for a full day, stepping up when you see an injustice being committed, how to be a good parent to your child and a good spouse/partner. Yes, it is no surprise, Larry does it in his typical style, so if you prefer not to be challenged, then don't even bother reading the book. After reading this book I feel excited to make some changes and correct some relationships...thank you Larry for a well written lesson.

good, not great. Unless this is the first time you have read Winget Oct. 24 2013
By D Brett Walker - Published on Amazon.com

I love Larry and his attitude! He is no nonsense and almost always right. The problem with his always black and white approach (which I agree with by the way) is that I already knew what he was going to say before I read the book. I have read most of Larry's books and they are all EXTREMELY similar to each other. No matter which book you choose, the first one you read is the best. And I have to admit, the first book I read was FANTASTIC because he tells it like it is and does so in your face. You must read one of his books, but one is enough.
