--Marshall and Judy Ayer; Ayer Natural Market & Greenhouse; Bluford, IL

"I ordered 40 stevia seeds and your book 'Growing and Using Stevia' a few months ago. I am very happy with your seeds, because 32 of 40 seeds germinated which is about 80%. I couldn't wait to take a leaf even though the plants are small. Oh, so sweet!"
--Tomas Karlsson; Delray Beach, Florida

5.0 out of 5 stars Growing and Using Stevia Aug. 20 2008
By Beverly Wheeler - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Growing and Using Stevia by Jeffrey Goettemoeller & Karen Lucke is an excellent guide for the Stevia beginner and also for the Stevia user. It gives you the "Why" and the "How to" - plus converting recipes using Stevia to replace sugar. This book is well written, documented and is simple and easy for the novice to understand. I recommend this informative little Stevia book to all who are health minded, and, with or without a sweet tooth, even the honey bees love Stevia - the sweet leaf from garden to table and best of all, it is good for your health. HalleluYah!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good information, but you might want to just buy your stevia Aug. 23 2010

This really was a great book, but the stevia I grew turned out to be too bitter to use in any of the recipes in this book. It was a fun experiment, but raising the plants from seed, drying the leaves, and powdering them turned out to be a waste of time because the green powder was inedible.

5.0 out of 5 stars RATES A 10 Nov. 20 2008
By V. Holst - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
THIS IS 1 OF THE BEST STEVIA BOOKS I HAVE READ. IT IS VERY INFORMATIVE. PLUS, THE BONUS OF THIS BOOK IS ALL THE PHOTOGRAPHS. SEEING AS THIS PLANT IS HARD TO FIND, IT'S GREAT TO SEE WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE. I DON'T HAVE A GREEN THUMB, BUT THIS BOOK MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO FAIL ON GROWING STEVIA. GET THIS BOOK, IT'S ONE OF THE BEST. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT

5.0 out of 5 stars Full of useful information Dec 29 2010
By Beth DeRoos - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The value of the book is its direct and to the point. With Stevia being in the news so much, I have been interested in growing my own plants to make my own stevia powder to use in place of sugar. And this book also has some decent recipes for everything from use as a tea, to use in baked goods and even with hot cereal. The book Growing Stevia for Market is a must read for anyone interested in selling the product either for others to grow from cuttings to a finished product for use in the kitchen.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent resource for Stevia fans April 12 2012

There really isnt a lot to this book overall. In a sense, it is more of a pamphlet than a book, the information packed into its pages are invaluable for a Stevia grower in particular. It shows you, in simple, easy to understand terms, how best to grow and maintain your stevia plants. It also describes the method for making stevia poweder, and includes some recipes that utilize stevia as well. I have found the book to be quite useful personally.

Enjoy!
