Great and Useful book. For anybody. Not just military Sept. 25 2013

Bottom Line Up Front: This is a great and useful book and has value to anyone who plans on being a financially independent and a responsible person. It is basic and easy to understand.

Had COL Gayton (the Author) as an instructor for SS391 which is a class at West Point about personal finance. It was the best and most useful class that I have taken to date. This book is pretty much a summary of many of the things that I learned in class. It serves as a great reference to understanding investing, insurance, and a litany of other personal finance topics that are extremely important. Great for high school or college kids to read so that they can gain an understanding of the time value of money and realize the importance of starting early with savings and investment. Helps people to create budgets and save for long and short term goals. Good investment for someone to learn the basics.
