William H. Willimon makes another suburb contribution to being faithful to Scripture and the practices of the early Christian church. This book is well written, theological in understandable terms for lay and clergy alike. It is the "connective tissue" which helps make sense of many separately taught and viewed facets of the practice of our faith. It is an easy read which is quite thought and action provoking.

This is a helpful contribution to the literature. I sometimes meet with classes of lay pastors and it helps to put good literature in their hands. At the same time, it is helpful to have a book like this in mind to help keep a class on track. Among many useful texts, I find this one to be on target and accessible for a broad group.
