It's a great quick reference for chords. It would still be good to understand music theory like basic chord construction like 1-3-5 (major), 1-3b-5 (minor), and so on.

Spiral binding is great. Good preamble for those new to guitar but page guides and way of classification good for those of us needing a refresher and/or as self-taught never knew what to call the things we do with our fingers sometimes.

Bloated with information but in a very good format. Gave me a new appreciation for Roy Clark and his abilities!

I gave thiis handy book a five, its a nice size that can easily fit into my pocket. It has coil binding that allows the pages to remain open all the time for quick reference. Even got a book mark with my order, which is a bonus.

Even great for non-dummies Sept. 11 2011
By DocLalor - Published on Amazon.com

I've been playing folk and rock guitar for a few decades; but when I started playing with a Latin jazz band, I turned to websites and Youtube videos for coaching on fingerings of all these new augmented, 7-flat-5, sharp-9 chords, etc. That can be a pain, and I wanted a one-stop fingering shop. This book is quite good. It doesn't contain fingering for every chord - but it contains multiple variations of many important ones. It's a great help for me. And the spiral binding is convenient: it sits open, hands-free - just as someone with two hands on a guitar would wish.

LOTS OF CHORDS & MORE Feb. 25 2014
By Ron Rio - Published on Amazon.com

Tons of chords, probably more than you think you need. Each chord is supported with a diagram, a photo, the root and a helpful explanation. Although a wall mounted chord chart is an easy and indispensable tool, this book offers many more chords - and supportive coaching when you need extra help on a difficult chord.

The book is very well organized. Makes it very easy for the beginner to play beautiful cords--I love listening to it.
Not bad Jan. 6 2012
By Long T. Nguyen - Published on Amazon.com

If compared to Guitar for Dummies (written by Mark Philips, John Chappell), this one in "For Dummies" series is not too bad. If you really want to go deep in structure and compositions of guitar chords, this book really can help. Also, it can be used as a reference book on chords for "dummies" like me to look for whenever we need with clear and easy-to-follow photos. Good one.
Great April 21 2014

This is one of the greatest book I have ever bought. It shows chords that are not frequently used by most people. I loved the book.
