This is one of my favorite manga. I have read the first three volumes of this manga back when ADV released them in regular sized tankoban. This volume of the new omnibus edition is the fiirst time these chapters have been released in the USA. The series is still amazing and the art is breathtaking.Personally, I like this new translation better than the ADV translation of the manga.

Those who have read the first several volumes of Gunslinger Girl are familiar with the basic formula of the series: include the occasional gunfight, but the real meat revolves around the relationships between cyborg and handler.Omnibus Volume 4 does not stray from that formula, and this is a feature (not a bug). One of the cyborgs dies in this volume, making confrontation of mortality and the meaning of the girls' short lives the focus of the chapters. Intermixed with these themes are flashbacks revealing handler backstories in greater detail.
The artwork is fantastic and the stories gripping. If you are a fan of Gunslinger Girl, purchasing Omnibus Volume 4 is a no-brainer.
