Sweeny Gunsmithing,
By David Jones (Langley, British Columbia Canada) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gunsmithing - Pistols and Revolvers (Paperback)
Good intro to basic gunsmithing but too much time spent on stories about shooting and not enough about smithing. The book is also full of spelling errors or incorrect word usage.

This review is from: Pistols & Revolvers (Paperback)
As a Detroit area gun owner, I know Pat Sweeney by reputation. His is generally the first name suggested when offering recommendations for area gun smiths. He is frequently consulted by area radio talk show hosts when they require the opinion of a firearms expert. In his book, Pat takes the time to explain to the beginner all the basics most books assume you already know. It's an easy read, and supplies the reader with all the essential information needed to buy used guns, to send guns out for repair, welding, or finishing, and to clean and work on firearms at home. Even gun owners who never plan to try their hand at smithing will benefit from a better understanding of how guns work, what improvements are available, and what modifications should be avoided.

Very practical!,
This review is from: Pistols & Revolvers (Paperback)
With no experience, orther than mechanical competence and some machine shop knowledge (which is not required), this book took me from zero experience, to purchasing $100 of tools, to a successful trigger job on a new revolver, with notably happy results. I am eager to try more projects because of this book.
