I can't believe people who say that the "Half life franchise is dead" just because it takes a long time to install... That's crazy!! The fact is, Half-life has the best graphics EVER seen in a first-person shooter. The graphics far outdo doom 3... and this is why it takes so long. The game is massive! You want great graphics? Then wait a bit!!! (need I remind you that doom 3 was shorter and had less stellar graphics...and had 3 cds...)In addition to the absolutely INCREADIBLE graphics, the storyline and use of character interaction and dialoge is stellar. You can tell this game was actually blocked by a stage director...the interactions between you and the other characters in the non-fighting bits is fantastic. (especially with the crazy facial expressions). All in all, an AMAZING game. For the real gamers out there looking for a real story in their graphics-packed killey FPS, and not afraid to put in a bit of time installing (come one...you can leave and do something else!!), this game is an absolute MUST....!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are now no longer complete until you play/beat it.

half-life2 is like no other game around it is very hard to beat even halo2 has a hard time trying to better this game in terms of story and looks and the fact that half life2 comes free with counter-strike:source and not meny games can better that such as halo1&2 quake3 and unreal if you have a pc buy this game buy it now its the best

i downloaded every pre-release trailer and watched them all ad nauseum, but i didnt buy the game unil now because i'm cheap. i've played half-life 2 plenty, though. same feel as the first half-life. dissapointingly easy, dissapointing plot, but amazing gameplay. some sequences feel scripted but the ai is still good enough to keep you on your toes. only bad guys since farcry who can out-maneuver you. running out of ammo in HL1 was fun, but it doesnt happen here. why doesnt anyone sell HL2 this cheap in the states?
