I really enjoyed HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE and will definitely be reading the rest of this series in part because of the delicious hero Bones. He is absolutely fantastic and oh so sexy, reminding me on one level of Edward from Twilight in his unwavering love and protectiveness of Cat but of course different in that Bones is all man. HTTG is a fast paced, action packed, somewhat bloody yet utterly amusing read. With a spunky impulsive heroine, delicious, bad boy hero and a unique modern storyline involving the Vampire hunter theme.

Catherine Crawford (Cat) is just your average half Vampire college student who in her spare time trolls the local bar scene seeking out the undead and killing them. Her hope is that one day she will come across the vampire that raped her mother, otherwise known as dad. One night while stalking her next target Cat gets more than she bargained for when she attempts to take down Bones, a two hundred year old, British speaking, Vampire, bounty hunter. Upon learning that she's half vampire Bones quickly turns the tables on the feisty and impetuous Cat, kidnapping her then forcing her into an unwilling partnership. Bones feels that together they'll be unstoppable since she's cunning and has the strength of a man. She's also pretty darn good with a dagger and deadly with a stake. And since other vampires can't sense her she'll also make the perfect bait. Cat in turn agrees to let him train her under the condition that he helps her find her dead beat dad.

Throughout Cat's training she's determined that as soon as she can she's going to take Bones out too. After all her mother always told her; the only good vampire is a dead vampire. As Cat gets to know Bones however she soon realizes that not all Vampires are created equal.

After reading the first few pages of that book I was already mentally slapping myself for letting this book sit on my TBR shelf for so long: This book was beyond awesome! I've heard many mentions of Cat and Bones before, but I really under estimated them.

Cat is the result of her mother being raped by a vampire. Brought up in a religious family and been drilled by her mother into believe vampires are evil, Cat is hunting vampires on her own since age 16, after being raped herself. Not everything works as planned when one of the vampires she plans to kill ganks her first.
Being offered a less than appealing deal, Cat will agree to team with Bones, a 200ish years old vampire, to kill some more blood-suckers of his choice. She will find a lot more then she bargained for though...

I don't even know where to start to tell you how good this book was. I instantly fell in love with both Cat and Bones. He keeps calling her Pet, Kitten, Luv and it kind of reminded me of Spike in Buffy Vampire Slayer.
They have a pretty interesting relationship together and between the beatings, fights and vampire slaying, Cat will have to question everything she believes in.

The story is fabulous, face-paced, action-packed. It usually takes me about a week to read a book and I read that one within 2 days, I could barely put it down.

I have to admit I was slightly disappointed with the end, not that it wasn't good, but I was hoping for a different one. I really can't wait see what's next on the plate for these two. I already ordered the following three books and they can't get here fast enough!

Bottom line, if you haven't read this series yet, or if like me you have this book sitting on your TBR pile, you need to start reading it now! What are you still doing here? I said go on and read it now =P
Jokes aside, that book is fabulous, a must read!

I just finished reading this novel. I couldn't put it down. The heroine was unique. She was fearless and tough as nails without losing her feminity. Usually I intensely dislike 'first' person novels. Anyone who is of like mind, can put that prejudice aside for this particular author. This heroine is more than capable of looking after herself and taking care of business. There is a real story here. While there is certainly a strong element of romance and sex, these are not the key elements in this novel. Definitely, the plot is the key. I haven't provided a lot of detail because I don't want to give away the story. I highly recommend this book to lovers of the 'paranormal' romance genre.

Bones and Cat seem to be on the blogs so I figured I should take the plunge and check the Night Huntress world out for myself. As a series start it had it's moments. I loved the Cat/Bones interaction and can see the attraction. Cat's desire to kill to please her mother and her mother's lack of acceptance bothered me a little but since that was such a small part of the story I could overlook it. It had the potential to have a much bigger emotional impact but I wasn't invested in the character's enough yet. It was a good start and I have continued on to book two.

Gah... This was just all kinds of ways good, the question here is why did I leave the delicious and uber sexy Bones sitting on my TBR shelf for so long? I mean I knew this was going to be great, I figured Cat was going to kick some major butt and I'd already heard all the rumours about the infamous chapter 32 So why the wait?? I just don't have an answer. Anyways I loved this second part in the Night Huntress series.

So where to begin? How about awesome, exciting, erotic, hilarious, bloody, sigh-worthy, movie-worthy, clever, romantic, thrilling, passionate, vengeful, intense, emotional, surprising, freakin fantastic and ultimately addictive. One Foot In The Grave gave me everything I could possibly want in a paranormal romance and then some.

Half Vampire Cat Crawfield is now working for an underground section of the government. She and her (awesome) team help rid the world of those bad rogue Vampires. You know the ones that use humans as hors d'oeuvres. When we begin Cat hasn't seen her beloved Bones in 4 years although she's still using everything he taught her, still quick with a dagger and still slaying readers with witty one-liners.

One of the great parts of this book is the anticipation the reader feels waiting and wondering when and just how they're going to get back together. And I will admit I was surprised at seeing this softer broken side of Cat that still pined for Bones (who wouldn't) Ultimately their reunion is everything you'd hope for; violent, romantic, hilarious and very sexy. (It also left me craving a Gin) Bones is once more unwavering in his love for Cat, luscious to listen to and retains his title as my ultimate literary boyfriend.

With Bones back in her life Cat now has some explaining to do. Like why is he still alive?
