Product Description

"You can't kill the boogeyman," explains John Carpenter in Halloween, and to prove it he brings Michael Myers back in this handsome but grisly sequel. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode but spends most of her time cowering in a hospital gown, and Donald Pleasence runs around like a maniac as the panicky doctor desperate to hunt down Myers before he kills again. Carpenter writes and produces with partner Debra Hill, and together they replace the mystery and uncertainty of the original with an exponentially bigger body count and some strange tales about the Druids and pagan ceremonies, and the now-familiar family ties between Michael and Laurie. First-time director Rick Rosenthal (Bad Boys) paces the film at a brisk jog and directs it with a clean, crisp style, taking the murders out of the dark to display them in all their nasty detail. --Sean Axmaker

Halloween 2 for me nailed the formula right again..Yes the gore was a lot more evident and it was a bit less scary but there were very subtle things in this movie that made the storyline come together..We find out that Laurie is Michael's sister, Michael breaking into the school and writing "Samhain" on the board or desk, and the scenes in downtown Haddonfield are great where you don't see Michael but you see people walking around Haddonfield on Halloween night thru his eyes, not thinking anything of him because it's Halloween, the news reports are great and the little cut in of Night of Living Dead is cool as well..I highly recommend this as part of any horror movie weekend marathon you might have planned...

Halloween 2 was written again by john carpenter and debra hill, but this time directed by rick rosenthal (who in the future will direct the crappy halloween resurrection), the story is so original, and so decent, it starts just when the first one left us off...laurie strode is in haddonfield hospital under care of jimmy, and a few nurses...but michael myers is still alive and he goes to the hospital to try to kill his sister again...but dr.loomis could stop him...before he got finally his sister...
I love the movie it's so excelent and original!!! i think that is better than the first one but just for a little!!!...is great!!! the dvd is not very good...but...the movie is great!!
the extras includes..."production notes", "trailers", "filmographies", "subtitles", etc...

HALLOWEEN II IS A GREAT SEQUEL, FOR SO MANY REASONS. THE FIRST BEING THAT IT IS A GENUINE SEQUEL, BRINGING BACK PLEASENCE, CURTIS, CYPHERS. THE MUSIC IS EXCELLENT, THE ATMOSPHERE IS CHILLING AND THE MURDERS ARE DOUBLED AND FAR GORIER ( IF THAT'S THE KIND OF THING YOU LIKE ).
WHETHER IT IS IN THE DARKENED HOSPITAL WITH MYERS KILLING OFF EVERYONE IN HIS WAKE TO GET A LAURIE, OR WITH THE FRANTIC LOOMIS SEARCHING HIGH AND LOW, THE MOVIE DELIVERS.
AND JUST FOR THE RECORD, MYERS DIES IN THIS ONE. I DON'T KNOW WHO THE IMPOSTER IS IN PARTS 4,5,6,7,8 AND EVENYUALLY 9, BUT IT AIN'T JOHN CARPENTER'S MICHAEL MYERS.

the first halloween is incredible there is no doubt and this great sequel is a bit less in comparison. Yet, compared to other movies in the horror genre, its a 5. You know what i always say: "Nighttime is screamtime when Mike myers is around." Myers is the king of fright, mark my words. This sequel sustains the greatness of its original better than any in the horror genre.

OK, later on that same halloween night in Haddonfield, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is whisked away to the hospital, only to be stalked by her demonic shadow, Michael Myers. Laurie is her old quivering, yet resourceful self. Michael is the unstoppable dreadnaut of death. Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasance) is still raving about Michael and stalking the evil stalker. The hospital setting is cool and adds to the claustrophobic feel of the movie. I love Laurie and Michael's "relationship". She's the magnet and he's the murderous iron shaving. They are drawn together by forces beyond them both, as the perfect killer / victim. I recommend Halloween 2, especially for it's excellent chase sequence between Laurie and Michael. Watch H2 as a double feature w/ the original...

"Halloween 2" is best describe of something of a failed sequel that tries very hard to live up to John Carpenter's 1978 movie. Since Carpenter and Producer/Co-Writer:The late Debra Hill (The Dead Zone, Escape From New York, The Fisher King) tried to do something different that almost works. Is this a bad sequel? No, it is just a very underrated and underwritten sequel.

The highpoints of this movie is actually Michael Myers played by Stuntman and Sometimes actor:Dick Warlock, who is terrific as Michael Myers. Warlock plays Myers very straightforward, scary and meancing. Myers' character even has some dark touches of humour before he kills a character from the movie. Dean Cundey's (Psycho 2, Jurassic Park, Who Framed Roger Rabbit) excellent Widescreen cinematography is a plus. I like the hospital setting, which hospitals can be a scary place. Also Carpenter and Hill continue the story on the same night from the first one. Which it makes an interesting double feature. I also liked Lance Guest (The Last Starfighter, Jaws The Revenge "!") character, the only new character in this sequel is likeable. Leo Rossi (The Accused, Renlentless) is amusing as a sleazy paramedic driver, who is the comic relief in the feature.

The downside:The late Donald Pleasence is always fun to watch him play Dr. Loomis but he is way over the top at times. Try to keep a stright face, when he tells Sheriff Brackett (Charles Cyphers) that he shot Michael Myers six times! His character is a little stranger than usual, especially with his speech about Samhain. The most oddest moment in this picture. Jamie Lee Curtis' character Laurie Strode doesn't do much and she is not seen much until the third act, where her character and the movie finally comes alive.
