I purchased this Hamilton Beach hand blender as a replacement for my 200 watt Braun whose motor died suddenly after a few years of perfect use. The Hamilton Beach does a poor job of pureeing soups, which is my main use for it. While the Braun easily pureed an entire pot of lentil soup in mere seconds, the Hamilton Beach leaves chunks and takes several minutes of pulsing to even remotely puree. Further, the chopping bowl attachment has begun to leave bits of black plastic in the food that I chop. I can't even chop an onion without little black plastic bits eroding away into my food. Poor quality and poor performance overall.
Hand mixing : Very Good Usage : Very Good Ergonomics : Good Cleaning : easy Durability : Good Noise : Poor
I use it mainly as hand mixer, for making fruit juice, veg juice, tomato sauce ,etc. And it's working very good, I just wished it had a sealed buttons to give the feeling of more safety, And it sure needed a container to mix the fruits in.
This has been a life saver in my kitchen, my new go to gadget. The bowl and blade has been unnecessary for me so I can't speak to how well that works. But the main blade that attached and wish are fantastic. Easy to clean. Lots of power, find The motor gets warm after about 10 minutes but not so much it's been a issue, and I'm usually done what I'm doing by the time that starts. I mostly blend batter with it for pancakes/muffins, purée sauces, make whip cream or small amounts of butter. Today I even pulsed onions and mushrooms into a paste and added it to ground beef for spaghetti sauce(my kids none the wiser). Good buy. I've had it for 4 months now and use it daily.
