4.0 out of 5 stars Very good breakthrough album for them! May 28 2004
Format:Audio CD
I still like "Hangin Tough" today. Although half of the songs consisted of ballads, it was good pop for its time. Maurice Starr's dinky-sounding keyboards from it have me still humming to them today. The Right Stuff and Hangin Tough were tough sounding songs in their beats and sounds. I'll Be loving You Forever still sounds pretty. And I still like "I Remember When", even though they go on and on for nearly two minutes on the closing chorus. But the song I still like is the rock-driven guitar on "Hold On." To me that was the most challenging on the album. It sometimes recalls '70s rock in some ways and just amazes me every time I hear it. Donnie Wahlberg sounded good on it too. This song separates itself from the mostly teen pop that dominates the album and perhaps their most experimental. So before you dismiss it as another teen pop album, think about track 10 too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Old kids and new men on the block June 9 2004
Format:Audio CD
In 1988,when this album was released,New Kid On The Block Danny Wood became a new man. In other words,he turned 18 that year. Donnie Wahlberg was already a man(age 19). Joseph McIntyre was still a kid(age 15). Jonathan Knight is older than Wahlberg and Jonathan's brother Jordan was still a kid also. Two years earlier,NYOTB received very little attention with their self-titled debut. No songs from that album made it to the Top 20. Here is the album that drove NKOTB to superstardom. Between summer 1988 and summer 1989,this album spawned 4 Top 20 hits,(You Got It)THE RIGHT STUFF,PLEASE DON'T GO GIRL,COVER GIRL and I'LL BE LOVING YOU(FOREVER). At the time of this album's release,NKOTB were making headlines and gracing covers of magazines such as Bop,16 and Teen Beat. Their popularity was killed by future musical acts like the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync.

5.0 out of 5 stars The New Kids Rock!!!!!!!!! July 10 2004
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
First of all, I am not under 13. I just don't like giving out information online. Anyway, this is the best New Kids On The Block album that I have heard so far. I was very young when the New Kids On the Block were a group so I don't really remember them. I think that the New Kids are better than the boybands today. In fact, of all the boybands today I prefer the New Kids... and i'm 13. In case you are wondering, my favorite member is Jon.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Osmonds for the 90's!! Oct. 21 2003
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Isn't it amazing that this group were the top money makers in the 90's?? These guys are not hanging tough, but they're just a step up-only by a little-from the Mickey Mouse Club.Name me one thing that's original or even exciting about these little boys playing in grown up clothes??They broke up and should be forgotten!!..My generation should be ashamed!!! THIS IS SAFE MUSIC AND A SAFE GROUP FOR LITTLE GIRLS THAT DON'T PREFER REAL MUSIC!!
