Book Description

May 20 2008 Cedar Cove Series (Book 5)
Corrie McAfee 50 Harbor Street Cedar Cove, Washington Dear Listener, Considering that I'm married to Cedar Cove's private investigator, you might think I enjoy mysteries. But I don't - especially when they involve us! Roy and I have been receiving anonymous postcards and messages asking if we "regret the past." We don't know what they mean… On a more positive note, we're both delighted that our daughter, Linette, has moved to Cedar Cove to work at the new medical clinic. A while ago I attended the humane society's "Dog and Bachelor Auction," where I bought her a date with Cal Washburn, who works at Cliff Harding's horse farm. Unfortunately Linette is less enthusiastic about this date than I am. Speaking of Cliff, the romance between him and Grace Sherman is back on. But that's only one of the many interesting stories here in Cedar Cove. So why don't you drop by for a coffee at my husband's office on Main Street or our house on Harbor and I'll tell you everything that's new! Corrie

From Booklist

Macomber's chronicle of life in Cedar Cove continues as Corrie and Roy McAfee receive postcards and fruit baskets from a mysterious source. The notes don't exactly threaten, but Corrie and Roy, a private investigator, are disconcerted. Eventually they theorize that the source is someone they knew in college who has the power to change their lives and the lives of their children. Meanwhile, their daughter, Linnette, moves to Cedar Cove and is ecstatic when a doctor she cares for moves there, too. Grace and Cliff may be on the outs. Cecelia continues to work while her husband, Ian, is at sea, and while they await the birth of their new son. Her boss' daughter, Allison, falls for a dark and rebellious young man. And as Charlotte and Ben begin their new life together, Ben's estranged son shows up. All this and more recommends this latest installment in the continuing saga of Cedar Cove. Fans will love it. 5.0 out of 5 stars I loved this book May 22 2006
Format:Mass Market Paperback
My first "Macomber" read, this definitely won't be my last. Basic story is this: Corrie and Roy live in Cedar Cove. They receive a series of things (postcards, baskets) from "someone" but can't figure out who. Eventually they piece together that it is someone from college (read "Six Degrees of Separation"). Suffice it to say that this "someone" has power over them and could/can change their lives. I was reminded at time of the novel "Katzenjammer" by Jackson McCrae, with its themes of interconnectedness and mystery. As I said, this won't be the last book I read by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Story Nov. 13 2006
By Andromeda - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I enjoyed all the storylines but Roy and Corrie's was the best the revelation of who's been sending them all those notes was wonderfully done and very creative. On other fronts Cecelia's pregnant and worried this pregnancy will turn out like the last. Maryellen's also pregnant and having complications which put a strain on her and Jon's life. Linette's got a crush on a doctor but Corrie thinks she'd be better off with horse trainer Cal. Charlotte begins her new life with Ben.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fun, Friendly Read!!! Sept. 1 2005
By Kristi Ahlers - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Ms. Macomber is a talented, prolific writer who has created a wonderful "small town" named Cedar Cove. This town has so many fun, interesting, brooding people that the reader can't help but feel as if they belong as well.

In her latest effort we follow as Roy and Corrie come to terms with who is leaving notes behind, while trying to figure out just why this is happening. Corrie is still trying to make a match for her daughter Linnette, and Linnette is still trying to avoid that match. Linnette also has a new friend that she has connected with but has no idea that they are connected in the grand scheme of things.

More questions are asked, more happy ending are found. This is truly a series that you will want to start with at the beginning but even if you are new to this series this is still a fun and entertaining read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Like catching up with old friends Oct. 7 2005
By Karen Potts - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
The best part of the Cedar Cove series is finding out what is happening to characters who now seem like old friends. The featured couple in this book are Roy and Corrie McAfee who are receiving mysterious post cards from someone who forces them to look at their past. At the same time their daughter Linnette is moving back to town and Corrie tries to introduce her daughter to a young man she wants her to date. Olivia and Jack Griffin face a crisis in their marriage just as her mother Charlotte begins her new life with Ben Rhodes. There are romances, pregnancies, and births among the younger set, and an unfortunate fire which destroys a Cedar Cove landmark. Author Macomber does a good job of creating new situations for her characters and keeping up reader interest. The next book in the series will be 6 Ranier Drive, which will feature Seth and Justine Gunderson.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love Cedar Cove Feb. 12 2006
By Joyce Baldassarre - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I have been reading the Cedar Cove series since its beginning and after I finish each book, I want to move there. I love the people, their lives and how they overcome the difficulties and setbacks they encounter. I enjoy these books immensely and look forward to the yearly event when the next one comes out. These characters feel like family, it's an easy read, and I just love them. Start at the beginning and you too will fall in love with the people of Cedar Cove, WA.
