She is the author of eight Charlie Fox novels, including Fourth Day (Pegasus Books, 2010). Sharp's heroine Charlie Fox was featured in a story in Busted Flush Press' A Hell of a Woman, "Served Cold," which was nominated for the 2009 Crime Writers' Association Short Story Dagger.
About the Author
Zoë Sharp was born in Nottinghamshire, but spent most of her formative years living on a catamaran on the northwest coast of England. After a promising start at a private girls' school, she opted out of mainstream education at the age of twelve in favour of correspondence courses at home. Zoë went through a variety of jobs in her teenage years, from yacht delivery crew to van driver, horse riding instructor to pensions and mortgage advisor, including a tough six months selling advertising for a local newspaper. In 1988, on the strength of one accepted article, she gave up her regular job to become a freelance photo-journalist, and has been making a living writing and photographing ever since, mainly for the motoring press. Zoë wrote her first novel when she was fifteen, but her professional writing career took off in 2001 with the publication of the first Charlie Fox book -- KILLER INSTINCT.
Zoë lives in the English Lake District, and is married. Her hobbies are sailing, fast cars (and faster motorbikes), target shooting, travel, films, music, and reading just about anything she can get her hands on. She and her husband, Andy, who is a non-fiction author, have recently self-built their own house.

Hard Knocks is the third book in the Charlie Fox series. Charlie (Charlene) is ex-special forces...British. She is smart and tough. This book has great action, a believable plot, and a bit of romance.Because the first three books are out of print, they are somewhat hard to acquire. But don't give up. You can find them! The price range is pretty wide, so shop around.
Here are the books: Killer Instinct, Riot Act, Hard Knocks, Road Kill, First Drop, Second Shot.

main characters are good, and the lead female, is strong and takes care of herself, she is not wimpy! she infiltrates a supposed german personal bodyguard training school to find out why a friend was murdered....its very interesting and a fast read. Good action and adventure. Even my husband liked it.

Sharp really knows how to write an engrossing, action-packed story. I've read the first two in the series and love Charlie. She is a wonderful protagonist; smart, tough, skilled yet has her vulnerabilities. The plot is tight and fast moving with very good action scenes. The tension and suspense really keep you going. I've the next two books on my shelf and look forward to more exciting times with Charlie.
