i really can't see why people like this stuff. i've heard "coz i can" off mp3.com and saw a bit of some rather awkward live show, and both were perfect examples of why, despite what some people would like to say, there are good techno producers and bad techno producers. these beats are weak, uninteresting and unoriginal, and for gods sake its so obvious "steve p" used loops instead of programming his own beats a lot of the time, because he can't even be bothered to sync them with the rest of the track. listen to that skip on "coz i can", thats the sort of mistake you make when you're a 13 year old making mod's with Fasttracker that sample the chemical brothers for all your beats. these tracks never take off, they're pretty much like video game music. not horrible, just detrimentally uninspired and boring. i definitely would not reccommend this to anyone, i don't think, unless you really crave that "in your face" attitude. i'll admit, they are hardcore, but there's a lot more to good music than that. once again, nice solid proof that, indeed, anyone can write techno music, but it doesn't take any less skill to make it good.

An outstanding album... Steve P. throws some positively bone-crunching tracks in, showing the darker side of breakbeat. Attitude, Come In Hard, Psychopath... some wicked tracks showing how far the duo have progressed since leaving Skint records a couple of years back. My favourite is Coming Back With A Sword, an epic, brooding number with some nice vocal samples. Unmissable if you're a breakbeat fan who likes rock as well. Strongly recommended for any bigbeat fan.
