Great for HP fans learning Italiano! Jan. 26 2011

I'm 14 and I am learning Italian from many various sources. Harry Potter being my favorite series of all time helped me learn even more. This book is great to put things into context and learn new phrases and words. Some of the names change as well for example: Crabbe is Tiger and Oliver Wood is Oliver Baton. Plus, the book is different from the US edition and surprised me with new witty illustrations throughout the book.

I received my order in a short frame of time and got the book undamaged.

If anyone is interested in acquiring a reading skill in Italian, it is an interesting exercise to go through the English and the Italian versions side by side. It is as if you have a very kind teacher answering all of your questions concerning Italian grammar.

The product was exactly what I wanted as it was a gift for my sister that is starting to learn portuguese. After getting the first book, it is a good start to practice this language with a book that is interesting.
A delightful reader Aug. 23 2013

I lived in Italy for 3 years when I was a child. My Italian was fluent at the time, but I have not used it much in the decades since I returned to America.

I purchased this CD set in the hope that a tale that I know almost verbatim in English would provide an easy path back into the understanding of spoken Italian. It did. I can listen to this wonderful reading and be carried back to the time when my Italian was fresh and full. Hundreds of words rise in memory, summoned by context and by my knowledge of the story in English. I know what is going to be said and can relax and just let the Italian flow around me.

The key to this success is the reader. There is a wealth of intelligence, vocal range, and acting skill in Riglietti's performance. I am a big fan of Jim Dale's English rendition, but it is a great pleasure to hear another expert reader's interpretation of the material. Riglietti's characterizations have their own logic, their own richness. It is not a question of one being right and another being wrong. They are both treasures.
